@shinyshoe:
Well then, I better be careful, because if you love it that much we both might end up in a love triangle XD

A good couple of questions indeed. Well, for starters those matters (melting ice caps, air pollution, etc.) will not be spoken but hinted. I will talk about it later when I get to explain another advancement called E-Field (short for Environmental field), which works as an air, weather and temperature filter. It will be explained, maybe later this week I will post about it.

As for the physical and environmental state of the world is practically untouched as you see from now on, with the exception that resources are easily got from other sources, so people will concentrate on their hometowns and rarely leaving, which will let nature take it's natural course.

Your topics are relevant, however I will not include them mostly because this is something light. Maybe next time I do something that will be more thematic and more centralized about the consequences of evolution upon nature. But here it is more the impact on people and how they start to depend a little too much on technology.

Yes, Geo will have a certain degree of survival skills, which will be rather helpful in the course of the story. There won't be exaggerated explanations of course, just enough that you realize that he does have them. However he will be always search for help even if a little bit on technology. Again, this will be explained at a later instance when I finish describing all the terminology involved.

Lastly, I want to thank you for your link. It will be perfect research for Geo. I had thought of using some documentaries I have recorded but like this there is an easier access for the information.

I hope you may stick around for more :3

Hello! MegaTuga here, bringing you a small update on the project "6 days"

Sadly there is not much to update you of. The script is practically still the same because of work, and I haven't heard much from my editor and artist in these days. This is a project that is done on our free time, so things like work and school slow us down quite a bit. And since communication is crucial in projects like these, no wonder why it is going so slow.

All I ask is a little patience from those who want to read this story, and from those who offered their services to us (namely Kato and Mishima), that it will take a while before all your efforts will come to play.

Now, for the next issue of the "techno-babble" that this post will have XD. Let us talk about another great invention present in this future world: The kinetic shield and the E-field.

What does it do?

The kinetic shield is basically a barrier that can be applied to any metallic surface, repelling all impacts and dissipating potential damage from said impacts. It is currently used on several modes of transportation including cars, boats and planes.

The E-field, short for "Environmental Field" is a step up on the kinetic shield. During research on trying to apply the kinetic shield without a surface to stand on, scientists discovered not only how to do it, but also how to manipulate the barrier in order to repel or absorb anything under their desires. This was expanded in the form of an semi-invisible barrier that can be expanded easily and that serves as an air filter, letting pure air in and keeping any malicious toxins that might travel through the air, out. It also works the same way inside the barrier to let out fumes and smoke from various sources, and keeping the pure air and oxygen in.

How does it work?

The kinetic shield is applied to the surface as paint. But this won't make it durable or resistant as I said. For that to happen, it needs a power source. The paint is magnetized and it repels itself from the surface for a distance 10 times smaller than a millimeter. Then it needs to create vacuum between the surface and the shield, which is why this can only be applied to closed transports (you couldn't do this on a convertible car). Now, everytime any out source of kinetic energy coming against the surface, the energy is dissipated trough he whole surface instead of the point of impact. This not only negates any sort of damage to the surface but since it dissipates the energy, it will not return it, making for example a rock thrown at a car fall to the ground instead of bouncing back, thanks to the transmission of energy at the moment of contact.

The E-field is basically a semi-permeable barrier that only needs a specific machine to generate it. When powering this machine, it will create the barrier in any size or shape desired. This is mostly used to protect towns and cities from dangers from outside. Since it is like a little sister to the kinetic shield, it also dissipates any kinetic energy that hits it, making the city invulnerable to critical weather conditions that would otherwise danger it's structure. This function was found by accident, so the barrier was renamed environmental field because of being useful to control weather in a way to not affect daily life.

Where have I heard of this?

Honestly, I came up with this to answer the ever so important plot hole of "how come they are still alive after the bus crash?". The kinetic shield or something similar is seen in many space opera manga/anime, but since I've never seen those I cannot say what exactly inspired me to do it.

As for the E-field... it did come to me as the kinetic shield did. And somehow, I was able to expand the story and the character's background thanks to this. It also helped setting the theme of the story, so you can say that everything about the relationship society/technology/nature that is present in those story, came from the creation of the E-field. Again, I have no idea if there is anything similar to the E-field in other works.
