This is my first VN. I am writing and coding simultaneously! The game is sprawling with choices and multiple point systems, and hopefully will engage players as more of the mystery behind Apodrasi is revealed through each of the obtainable guys. I intend this game to be for free - it's rather long, though, so please bear with me. ^^;;

One thing is for certain, though.
Although you are not the only amnesiac to turn up in the world of Apodrasi,
there is something a little ... different about you.

Apodrasi is a mystery that can be unravelled through the residents of the only human settlement there: the village of Haven. Everyone has a painful secret to hide. As to whether Apodrasi is there to redeem or condemn them, only time can tell...
Laina (Player)
The main character the player controls throughout the game.
At the start, Laina is a bit like a blank slate due to the memory loss.
As to whether she regains her old self or creates a new self
is dependent on the different choices she makes throughout her time in Apodrasi.
No matter what choices she makes, however, her biting sarcasm never changes.
Rhea
A responsible young man who is in charge of running things smoothly at Haven.
Has a special ability to sense when people turn up in Haven and where to find them.
Genuinely welcomes newcomers and does his best to make the people around him
feel at home, but when things don't go to plan he can get snippy.
Is a total geek when it comes to gadgetry.
Secret: He feels insecure without his headband.
Micah
The resident librarian of Haven who is
about as socially astute as a rock.
Constantly has his nose in a book and tries to live as quietly as possible.
Seems to have very little patience for anyone who isn't intelligent.
Has sarcasm levels that rival Laina's.
Secret: It's not that he doesn't like you, he just doesn't know what to say.
Apollos
Cheerful, positive and fun-loving,
Haven's best deep sea diver has lots of energy and a lot of wit.
Although he is open and friendly, he is also very careful and picks his words wisely.
Enjoys serious talks as much as he enjoys pointless banter.
Secret: A lot of his flirtatiousness is just a cover for times he gets stupidly shy.
Firi and Toto
(* Sprites are nearly done for these two <3)
Quiet and withdrawn, Firi is Haven's florist and flower arrangement specialist.
Spends most of her time running after Toto,
one of the very few children in Haven.
Toto is devoted to Firi, and loves to eat/steal food off your plate.
He spends most of his time being chased by Firi and other residents of Haven.

These are screenshots of one of the more recent tests I've played, though I have yet to apply a screen tint or anything like that - you can still see how the sprites and GUI look, and what an awesome background artist CiciEnixa is if you look at the one with the alcove! (The other one... let's call it a work-in-progress :'D)

Little GUI Adjustments
The main menu image is currently a rough sketch placeholder, as you can see, but the main menu buttons are done - hovering changes the little icon.
Definitely still working on the preferences GUI but hopefully this looks more interesting than the default!

I completed programming and writing all of the routes - now it's a matter of putting in the finishing touches of end credits, CG gallery and proofreading out all the typos and whatnot!
GUI: 50%
Still working on it!
Art: Working on it!
I have the most talented friend on board collaborating with me on this project: CiciEnixa, the mastermind behind From Dust to Ruination. She has been working tirelessly on backgrounds and colours/shades on the sprites I've been inking, and we'll also work together on the CGs though it remains to be seen exactly how we'll split that workload up. I've been tweaking some backgrounds here and there, and some backgrounds I'll be doing myself, so basically - the artwork is going to be a major collab effort between us!

QuestionsThe game contains 8,904 dialogue blocks, containing 105,767 words and 557,327 characters, for an average of 11.9 words and 63 characters per block.
The game contains 141 menus, 355 images, and 16 screens.
In terms of when this game might be released, there is no deadline right now, but we're working on it slowly and it's coming together at a gentle pace. Whenever we get CGs done, I'll be sure to post here again!
