Personally I'm a little bit attached to the shorts but I guess a skirt "balances" with the pixie-short hair.

Would you say the shorts go fine with short hair or should I keep the skirt or try a longer skirt?

Its good to get feedback from the community after all I'm making the game to share with all of you. In other words you're the boss.

Check out Gulp Kumoi,Its the Japanese Kumoi scale with some "trippy" experimentation for Orchidia Mythos

Itzelcoatl has a nightmare about the Devil Force, she is being chased and is "distressed"
The Chiptune captures that feeling with some "trippy" experimentation in the key of C Kumoi-shiozu.

When the experimental melody kicks in, it sounds sort of like melodic "Gulp" that signifies fright.

The shorts look fine with short hair, it's just me disliking the shorts in general and the short skirt looks nice too, I don't think you need a longer one, but that really depends on the impression you want the MC to give - do you want her to be more modern/traditional/something else? Her face looks soft and scared as it is so I think short clothes should give her more bold look, which she may need to confront Lucifer)
The tune is nice, actually too nice for a nightmare, it begins to get more scary with the appearance of additional noises, but I think to should be more dark in the second part (or maybe action-like if it's a chase)

O.K I'll work on a continuation for the song tomorrow that leads to a more dark progression in Locrian mode.
As for the outfit I will stay with the shorts. She needs to look a bit more bold but still soft.

She fits in the game just like as if she was there the whole time. (^_^)

Actually because of the text box we never really see her shorts for a long time during normal gameplay but either way its important to take care of minor details for later when I might need to display her for a monologue using NVL mode or something.

I read some people born under the sign of cancer have more "moon shaped" or big/cute eyes...

Thanks I changed it to Orphidia

My project folder was named wrong but the title is Ophidia.

Orchidia is apparently some ophthalmology-manufacturing company in Egypt...lol

I've worked on the menu background, this will be edited further for the title page.

She has a feather that belonged to Quetzalcoatl which she has worn on her neclace since she could remember, Quetzalcoatl put it on her before he disapeared into the Black Sun when she was a baby.The Fan was given to her and it belonged to her mother Yuki Onna, both object have "special powers" that I am keeping a secret for you guys to find out later.

This game is on Hiatus due to lack of Python/Programming knowledge:

I'll continue work on this project after learning some programming and then developing a prototype first-person dungeon and inventory for use in the game....I know, I know feature creep (<_<) but its necessary and the only "feature" in the game.

Hi guys, I'm back on this project after taking some time off to learn programming.
I learned a different programming language called Lua because basically I hate Python (>_<) *although I'm sure its a good language*

The game is no longer on Ren'Py, instead I'm working with a framework called LOVE. I made a simple engine for my VN that I'm really proud off called LuNar (Lua Narrative) its nothing as robust as renpy but it includes all the features I personally want for my game such as a text parser and later a dungeon sim (sort of like the digital devil games).

(i'ts version0.4 so their is not much yet but the general text parser, messages, sprites and controls are all finished)

I made a new character as well today, not yet colored her though, she's a magic girl who has a sort of mischievous personality. not yet decided on a name, I was thinking maybe Zera or Julia not sure which one is more magical.

I'm scrapping the hand made backgrounds and instead using pictures that are then edited and contrasted for a more comic like feel.

alternatively I can just use them as placeholders until much later when I have enough time to design the setting. This way I prevent myself from going insane!

What do you think, should I:
> Keep the characters in color and the background in black and white
>Keep everything in black and white (more consistent but maybe too simple)
>Try color everything but with very basic color

Let me work on a third example to show you.

It would be of great appreciation if I could get some constructive criticism.

(sorry for ranting a little earlier about team mates, just the usual developer stress (^_^))

However this was just an example, the real work will have more attention to detail.
The color scheme might change slightly.

I realized that pixels are what I am good at.
precise-perfection and full re-use is very possible and much easier for me. but its hard working from scratch then easy to edit later while g-pen art for me is easy to work with from scratch but very hard to change it later without re-doing the entire picture or having a million layers for every single detail.

I think that with skill anything can be easy or hard, its just a matter of patience.

Thats it for the game, the rest will be some dungeon style walls and floors that I might grab from some DOS old school games and then tweak them to fit in the game.
