I really like event and side story based romance. Will you also have little hearts or some other way to tell affection? I always liked the little hearts that changed color.

First off, thank you for the input! And to answer your question, yeah, kinda. At first, you won't be able to see a LI's affection; however, after a certain event you can create the Heart Pendant, which will appear in every LI's text box like so.



The gem in the middle will change color depending on the LI's affection points. The Pendant won't be too hard to get, since I've always loved seeing that sudden change in color myself

As for gifts, maybe only on their birthday or something? Then it's not like you're buying their love, but you can still show them that you care about them enough to know what they like and dislike.

Hey, guys! Updated some of the main post. For the update this week, I don't have much to show in terms of art since I've been focusing on ironing out the programming, but I did make quite a bit of progress!

Almost all screens are now up and running, save for half the fighting, but that's quickly getting finished. Which brings me to say that I plan on releasing a working demo by the end of the month. It will only be a week of the game's year, but hopefully I can get some great feedback and release the full version sooner. We'll just have to wait and see~

The heart pendant sounds great, by the way~
I really love romances that just hit you straight in the heart. The kind of romances that leave you feeling warm and happy on the inside. I usually prefer the romances to be more about the emotions and feelings with some intimacy like a kiss. I don't really like romances that happen too quickly. I think it's much better when the relationship has a bit of time to develop and grow.

1. How do you feel about GxG options in the game? I originally planned to include both Cadence and Polly as potential love interests, but after hearing some negative feedback about it, I'm not sure what course of action to take. Please keep in mind that this game will be AT THE VERY MOST PG-13. The most intimate you'll ever get is some batted eyelashes and a kiss.
I don't usually play GxG, but this one looks interesting and fun. I'd say to just keep all possible romance (GxG and GxB) on or turn them all off. If a player doesn't want to pursue the character romantically, well they can just pick the 'bad ending' or 'friendship' answer.

2. Which characters are you most interested in learning more about? Even if you don't pursue them romantically, there are still many events in-game which reveal each character's personality.

3. How difficult do you like your game, on a scale of 1 to Etrian Odyssey?
To put a number on it, 5. Not too hard, because I may rage quit, but not too easy or I'd be bored. It's a hard balancing act and this comment is most certainly not helping.

What I love the most about your concept is the amulets transforming into weapons. Especially the illustrations. The battles and exploration make your project even more appealing to me, cause that's what I love to do in games outside of VNs.

The former English Language student in me tells me that it's a great chance to start reviving the word 'periapt'.

Like daikiraikimi said, the gifts would be good for birthdays. To act like a little affection boost.
