I'm part of the new established indie group LunaSol Games, that is currently working on its first Otome Game and BL game called Black Rose Café ~Mafia Hearts~, in English and German. LunaSol Games is dedicated to making otome games and we pride ourselves in creating unique storylines and original characters, to make your gaming experience as memorable as possible.
So today, we'd like to share our first project Black Rose Café ~Mafia Hearts~ with you!
So this is Black Rose Café (BRC) in a nutshell:
- BRC will be available in English and German
- there will be two editions of the game: Otome (female mc x male) or BL (male mc x male)
- it’s dark themed and tragic, but there is enough fluff to make you feel all dokidoki as well
- it will be fully voiced in English (not sure about German yet)
- each edition has 7 dateable characters (+ 1 bonus character)
- you’ll probably spend far over 7 hours playing one edition
- 16+ possible endings
- there will be mini-games, that can be turned off optionally
- you can dress up your main character to your liking
- it will be commercial, but the prices will be reasonable
- there will be a demo for the game, which will be released on Valentines Day in 2015
- Release date: summer/autumn 2015
Story
“How much are you willing to sacrifice for freedom?”
Through a combination of unfortunate events Sayuri Harada (♀)/Tatsuo Akagi (♂) ends up in the clutches of evil scientists. After being kidnapped you wake up in an underground laboratory, where an experimental drug is forced into your system, turning you into a “halfling”. Now half animal (Phoenix ♀/Dragon ♂) and half human, you are sold to an illegal Maid Café that is run by the mafia.
There are only a few ways to escape the slavery in the café and each of them is potentially lethal…
But if you want to survive in the café at all, you have to fight for the attention of the regular guests, but you are not the only one trying to escape the Black Rose Café…
How will you reach that goal? Through seduction? Intrigue? Or will you try to gain the hearts of the guests by showing your true colors…?
Characters
There are 7 potential partners (+ 1 bonus character) you can fall in love with. We'll start adding their profiles, as well as pictures of them, here and on our website soon. The partners can be either mafia members or other "halflings" in the mafia world and don't forget the bonus character... We already wrote the main character profiles for both games and now we're working on their illustrations, so please be patient!
Sayuri Harada*
The heroine of the Otome Edition

Occupation: Law student, working part-time at a legal office.

Sayuri loves helping others, which is why she chose to study law and is passionate in what she does.
After coming home late from her job one night, she’s kidnapped and through a series of experiments was changed into a human with the traits of a phoenix. She was later sold to the Black Rose Cáfe, which is owned by the mafia, where she is forced to work as a maid.
Now the only thing she can do is try to get out… Preferably alive…

Occupation: studying to become an art teacher

Tatsuo always had an affinity for art and wants to inspire children to share his love for art.
After being talked into going out with his friends late at night, he ends up bringing his drunk friends home and walking home by himself. On his way he’s ambushed and then experimented on. He ends up being half dragon and half human. The people, who experimented on him then sold him to the Black Rose Cáfe, which is owned by the mafia, where he is forced to work as a butler.
Now all he can do, is try and find a way out…

We're still at the beginning of our BRC-journey, so there's not much to say about the game status, yet... The character designs of the two main characters will be up next, as well as some background illustrations and maybe a sneak peak of our customized GUI (Graphic User Interface).
