This is how the current character selection screen looks like. Like you probably can squint on the screenshot, your beginning stats (experience, decoration and social skills) will be different depending on which character you choose to play. Since those stats will also influence the in-game recipes and sales, I will need a lot of balancing to make one character not easier to play than the other at the beginning of the game >w<

Before we get to that I need to actually finish the cooking / sales screens first though haha 8’DDD -gets back to work-

@ ZennyPai: Well it's not about being social XD Those stats are their current skills - so social skills, I mean like ppl skills. Talking to ppl, being spontanous in some situations etc. With Travis' character, since she's more easy going and open to people around her, she is naturally better at it than Ryuuga XD
Edit: Now that you mention it I guess it can be mistaken a lot! Probably will change it to "Charisma"! So thanks XD

"Charisma" does sound like a better label for it, stat-wise. Sorry for the trouble.

Ryuuga does seem pretty closed off, while Travis is a stylish girl.

A quick question though, surely Ryuuga has to be charismatic enough to have got good sales? If he's supposedly really good at his job (which involves customer service, given the nature of it) then wouldn't that mean he had a certain charm?

Well it's good that he isn't completely un-charismatic and the whole cliche "awkward guy". To be honest, usually really awkward people are good at pretending to be "normal", because of having to learn to try and fit in. We're all different people around different crowds, and usually if you have trouble socialising it just means you have to learn to observe what is acceptable or not more than others might!

Super small update since I haven't updated here in a while.

The programming is finished so far. Inventory, Recipes and Item Creation, Sales, Popularity, Combo, Daily Schedule and Stats all working now! >w< And so far nothing is crashing yet XD //slapped

Once I release a tutorial, I guess it will be easier to understand what's going on there XD But for now, I can finally stop programming and focus on art/writing stuffs again ovob

Next, I will be working on writing the prologue and character introductions and start sketching the rest of the character sprites (so more visual updates coming up). I started saving up for a composer and ideasbouncer too >w<b Hope to make faster progress now that I am almost done with moving 8D

Hopefully it's not too late for me to fill this in! I'm also going to apologize if I seem rude in any of my answers, I'm being 100% honest!

1. First impression in general? (On story, game type etc.?)
It looks really cute and I love the art style! It also looks very professional despite it being free! Definitely interested in playing it.

2. Any characters that you already interested in? Or characters you already think of as boring?
I really like Tracey! Marianne is adorable! Cyan is awesome(gotta love those cute angry guys)-- wait... he's 15? Uh... well, it'll be a 4 year difference, no big deal! I feel like Yuria is going to be that typical happy sister, though... and Travis also seems like the typical happy your-average-pretty-girl-who-does-anything-for-her-friends.

3. Which character will you probably play as first?
Ryuuga! He's cuter and seems more interesting. But I think him being cuter is a pretty solid reason already, heheh.

4. The café management will influence the CGs you get, but not the endings (except for the bad ending). Is it fine like that or would you prefer the café management influencing the endings more?
That's a little confusing to me... but that's okay? As long as it's a good story, I don't mind!

5. Was the information on which character is dateable too confusing? XD' (I didn't know what to use other than the icons XD')

Err... I think the questions pretty much asked what need to be said, and I'm not very good at adding extra stuff! Both Yuria and Travis' personalities were what bothered me the most... so yeah, that's all I have to say! Good luck, though! It looks like a wonderful project! ^U^

At the moment, art is pretty much my strongest selling point so I am glad you like it lol XD I guess most of the characters are, like you said, pretty stereo-typical >w< I hope to be able to make them more interesting through their background stories! We'll see how far I get trying lol XD

Small update: I have finished designing two new side characters >w< Two out of five side characters I have planned so far. So 3 more designs to go and I should be done with the important ones.
I might add a few customer sprites as well but I don't think it's important for the alpha yet, so setting priorities on side chars now!

I really hope they look like kids lol XD I am weak in drawing kids and old people >w<.... -designs the old people next- XD
