The Many Foolish Loves of Beretta Mondatta is a surreal comedy VN with multiple branching, yet interlocking storylines.
Every playthrough starts violently, but what follows is up to you. Will Beretta find love? Friendship? Death? Time to finally clean her dirty fridge? Each choice has its pros and cons, so there are no "good," "bad," or "true" endings.
While you can get to an ending in 5 to 15 minutes, there are over 20,000 words and 12 totally different endings that you can reach with little to no re-reading. About half the endings come with a “bonus” (a song, a drawing, etc.). Play enough of them, and you might just unlock a secret ending, too…

In every branch of the story, Beretta is quick-tempered and excitable. Beyond that, you control her actions. She always wants to be a good person... but she's often tempted to lie or give in to her worst impulses.
Rodrigo D’Amour—Beretta’s Ex-Boyfriend

He dead.
Roxanne D’Amour—Rodrigo’s Mother

“I must confess, Beretta, if any other girl had murdered my son, I might think ill of her. But I could never think ill of you, my dear.”
Officer Phil de Blanc—(Ex?) Police Officer

“Do you have any idea how fast you just ripped that boy’s head off? Ripping off heads is illegal in this country you know—at any speed!”
Gus Gradenko—Mailman

“Barkeep, get this lass a beer. The kind they be advertisin’ on television with all the pretty ladies.”
Jessica Machine—Coffee Aficionado

“I just thought, well, since you committed murder today, and since I also committed my first murder today, maybe I should introduce myself or something.”
The main game is nearly complete, including all the main writing and art. At this point, mostly working on sound effects, music mastering, final polishing, and maybe a couple bonuses. The anticipated release is in spring or early summer.
Free.
Contains cartoon blood and occasional strong profanity.
This is a DIY project, but I'm serious about improving and welcome all feedback.
Some (optional) questions to guide feedback:
Is it something you would play?
Does it work as a teaser for the VN?
Is anything unclear?
Do you think the tags in the post subject are effective?
Can you think of anywhere outside this forum where people might a play a VN like this?
What VNs (or games, comics, films, books, etc.) would you guess this is similar to, based on the above post?
And, of course, feel free to ask your own questions or to just stop by and say hi. Thanks for reading!
