Hi there! Just one quick question: How tall is the MC compared to all the rest?

Hi :D Thank you for the question!

The MC is around about average height- so about 5'5/5'6- so she'd be about Gretchen's height, who is 5'7.

She is quite short compared to most people in the Seasonal Realm, but this is due in part to the fact that their realm is influenced by magic, giving them a boost over normal humans.

People from the Seasonal Realm live longer, are generally taller, and have little to no illness.

If you'd like to know the heights of the others:

Fell- 6'5
Secret Romance- 6'3
Elisedd - 6'1
Theo- 6'0

If you'd like to know anything else, then just let me know! :)

Thank you! Hee, this means some of them are really gonna tower over her. I can't imagine that would be super comfortable when trying to be in charge.

Everyone pretty much respects the MC's position as Mother Nature, so there wouldn't be many who'd try to use height as an advantage :D

But, yeah, would make for some interesting situations at times!

Again, thank you so much for the question :)
(Sorry for the late reply- I tend to stay away from the internet on weekends).

Ooooh, your art is so pretty! I'm really enjoying the character sprites and the variety of poses and expressions. My favorite is Fell, I think. He has heterochromia, right? Or am I just seeing things? ^_^;

Also wanted to let you know that I love the GUI design. You managed the colors so well! Oftentimes rainbow-ish things end up a bit overboard, but you handled it perfectly.

Good luck :D

Thank you so much :D I worked hard on trying to get a really good amount of variation, so I'm glad people have noticed it!

He does indeed have heterochromia :) Something common amongst the people of the Winter Court.

I'm really glad you like the GUI design (I will get some better screenshots of it soon). I wanted a soft, but bright feel to the GUI- and the game in general- so I went with the gradient that felt that way. I'm thankful it was the right choice :D

Thank you so much for commenting, it's really encouraging to hear your thoughts on this!

Small Update-

Not much to report at the moment as I'm still steadily working through CGs! I think I'll finish them eventually (though it doesn't seem that way at the moment :D ).

For now, here's an out-of-context WIP of the CG I'm currently working on :)

Thank you so much! :D I wanted to make the characters really stand out in CGs, over the backgrounds and things, and detail was one way I hoped to make them 'pop'.

Sorry for the absence, I was down due to illness :( But back to it now, and have some art previews to make up for it!

All the sprites and backgrounds for the demo are now completed :D Yay!

I have on more batch of CGs to do, and then that will be all the art assets completed for the demo. Hopefully then things will start coming together pretty quick.

The plan is to get the demo ready for testers at the end of February, let the testers play it throughout March (whilst I participate in NaNoReNo), and then do final edits of the demo in April. Gives me a chance to work on the Steam Greenlight campaign and some marketing too, hopefully.

Full steam ahead now!

SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY
I love Bioware, too. This game looks so good, I hope the narrative is as good as the art work ^^
The Secret Romance  That kind of characters are always the best. Mysterious...~

Ahh, thank you so much! :)

The demo will be a pretty long one, so I'm hoping people will be able to get a good idea of how the game is going to be and what the narrative is like.

I love myself a mysterious character too- especially tall, dark, and handsome ones :D

Thank you so much for commenting, it's really appreciated to hear people's thoughts on this!

I'm so sorry for the late reply, I didn't see this reply! The demo is coming along... gradually. I really hope you enjoy once it's released!
The guy with the smile actually doesn't smile very much, so I thought I best show it on preview so at least I got to use the expression once :D

Update

I've nearly completed the art assets for the demo. I'm really pleased with how it's all coming along :) Here's some sneak peeks:

Production on Courting the Seasons will now be hold for the month of March whilst I participate in NaNo, and I will be taking a bit of a break after that. Once back in mid-April though I will be back with a new plan of action :D

See you guys then, and good luck to anyone particpating in NaNo!

Update

There's a new plan ahead for Courting the Seasons, and games from Seraphinite in general.
Image
I realised I was going to have to start planning seriously if I want visual novels to be a viable career path for me.

And though Courting the Seasons is my main project, it is HUGE, and I won’t get it out this year. I need to start putting out games more often.

So I will be taking breaks in between Courting the Seasons to work on route-based otome games (which I have discovered a major love for doing after working on The Lady’s Choice!).

This plan is subject to change if things go a bit pear-shaped, but this is what I will be doing my very hardest to stick to.

I’m super excited to have a plan in place! I work much better to goals and deadlines :)
