Scattered Notes will tell the story of Alena, an artificer, and the traveling dancer Sienna. It's a kinetic fantasy novel, taking place in the port town of Chirrelle, just weeks before a grand celebration. Visitors of all shapes and sizes are flooding in, and Sienna's troupe is amongst them. Alena, as a luckless craftswoman and native of the city, is hoping for the busyness to bring change with it. And it does.
We'll be using a third-person narrative, rather than the traditional first, in order to swap perspectives between the characters at time. We hope to place an especially strong emphasis on our soundtrack, which will play an important role in the story.
Alena is an artificer; a craftswoman who specializes in small trinkets and inventions that take just a little bit of everyday magic to work. Sadly, in a world where that kind of magic is commonplace, her creations aren't especially popular. Her talent isn't lacking - only its practicality.
Sienna comes from abroad, but she'll never say exactly where. The leader of her troupe and a skilled dancer as well as singer, she's the epitome of a free spirit. A little bit absentminded, but capable, Sienna's always able to get herself out of any trouble she finds herself in.
