The first draft of the story for the demo is finished! It ended up being around 10.000 words, which will be around 30 minutes of reading time. We'll now be going into editing and drawing the first four backgrounds.

Here we have a little preview of one of the visual novel core elements; the background art! An alley in Tuamera City. 

The team has been looking for something that could match the sprites in terms of quality and style. We're glad to say that we've found it.

That background is lovely! Really digging the art style and general atmosphere, it's really nice.

I'm not exactly sure what I feel about the main character being... able to... analyze and learn new techniques really fast, though. It just feels like a trope that's not even good and yet is overused. But of course, I suppose it depends on how it's used. Still not the best trope to poke around with, but eh. Good luck with your project!

I agree when you say that the "quick analyze and learn trope" could be rather bland. You see it often, but it's something that's only cool the first couple of times you see it.

But, whenever you see the trope, the writers have probably only scratched the surface. There's a lot more to it than just combat. False Elegy will shine more light on the psychological part of the trope. Like how Areon approaches new challenges, or how other people behave towards him because of his skills(which in return influences Areon).

I'd also like to say that he'lll spend some time with Ark(the main heroine). She will most definitely like to show Areon the negative consequenses of his talents.

The art is gorgeous, and the story definitely has an interesting premise. One Ascends and one Falls, huh? That'd definitely stir the drama pot. I wonder exactly what entails someone being an Ascendant and someone being a Fallen. In other words, you've already got me curious about the world.

That being said, I'm definitely pursuing Eden if she's romanceable. She seems completely adorable.

In the past few weeks, we've made significant progress on editing, CG art, and background art. Here's a little preview:



We are currently working on a new character sprite, music, the GUI, more editing and even more art. Stay tuned!

Hello guys!

After some intensive work, we've finally been able to free up some time for another update!
We have three new characters! You'll encounter them in the demo soon. Here's a little preview of one of the Fallen:


We would also like to share a preview of the beautiful background work:


Not only do we have new backgrounds finished, we have also updated some of the older ones.

We decided that even though we really love the orange lights in the previous versions, the "warm" feeling does not really fit the mood of the story. That's why we changed it to a colder color, with added details!

We are also continuing our work on the writing, music, GUI and scripting.

Hey guys! Now that summer break is over, it's time to get back to work.
Even though most of us were on a holiday, we've still managed to make a lot of progress! So here's our new update:

• The GUI by Atomic Invasion is completely finished! We went for something bright, but still with a "cold" feel. Seeing the results, Here's a sneak peek: 
  
  
• New backgrounds have been drawn!
• We've made two new character sprites!
• Old sprites have been rescaled to fit the textbox better. 
• 90% of the scenes have been coded.
• New music tracks have been added!

As we are nearing the completion of our demo, the next steps are new CGs and more tracks.
