Story

This was supposed to be an ordinary day, in an ordinary life. But it isn't.
You were in the town library, reading a good book when...You don't really remember. You know you passed out. And when you wake up, you are surrounded by flames!
Will you get out of danger? Will you create bonds with your companions? And maybe, will you find love on the way?

You incarn the namable protagonist. There is no sprite for her, since I want the player to identify to the character.

This is a game entirely made by myself and it is the first visual novel I'm making, but I hope you'll enjoy playing it!

This is a good goal. Please keep in mind that it's easier said than done. Creating a main character that the reader identifies with ("this person is you") is challenging. Think carefully about how to write her.

If possible, find a professionally published story or video game that includes a reader identification main character. Then criticize it. Did the "this person is you" character seem unnecessary? Did the character seem uninteresting? What could the author have done to change this?

You *might* benefit by giving your main character a personality. Let her have goals, opinions, concerns, and so on.

Of course, I could be wrong. This is your story, so write plot twists which you believe are appropriate.

Overall, I believe you will benefit by planning out your endings ahead of time. Think about writing at least one draft of each ending. Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to pay someone to translate it :( Currently, I have a relative who reads and corrects it, but he is not a native English speaker, he is just good at it ^^"
So I'll try to find at least one native english speaker like you said.

I had the idea by playing some game with this kind of character ( mainly Dragon age and Aloners )
I tried to give her a personality like you said, by the choices the player will have.
It appears that the main character will meet three people. At some point, they will enter a forest. Therefore, I expect one of the following plot twists:
I will not reveal the plot, but you'll see when the demo will be released :) Then you can give me your comments.

For the endings, I made a planning with the program "Freeplane". I didn't planned all of the endings yet, but most of it. ( Sometimes I add an ending, when the inspiration strikes )
Keep in mind that creating and releasing your visual novel can be a challenge, especially if you do not plan to sell it.
Like I said, I don't know yet if I will be a free game, pay what you want or a commercial game. I don't know if the game is good enough for that, I hope that the feedbacks on the demo will help me decide this subject.
For the challenging part, sure I agree ! I did know it was a challenge, but when we are at it, we truly realize the meaning of " challenge " ^^ I hope I keep the rhythm up !

Hey there !

There was no update for a long time :( , there was a lot of things going on :o

* Talking about personnal life *

So I found a job in the video game industry as a Animator artist ( 3D ) for a 6 month period. So to be able to work in the compagny that hired me I had to move to Paris ! So I searched for a flat and all that, it was like...total mess xD
But now it’s been about 1 month that I am in Paris, and I miss working on my VN so I’ll find time to do that :p ( I have a hard time finding a good pace ^^

Regarding the demo, I had some feedbacks, and it make me so happy and motivated to continue this game :p

So again, thank you to the peoples who supported me by downloading the game/ giving me a feedback !

Hi there !
Time for a little update:

I mostly programmed the parts that I already wrote, and it's finally done !
Now I can write new part of the story ^^ I don't have any clear idea of how long will be the story yet, so unfortunately I can't tell how much writing I still have to do ^^
But it goes on smoothly :)
I am also happy to say that I found a proofreader to help me for the demo, so there will be a new version of the demo released at some point :D
And here's an other outfit for Matt and few expression as well ! ( He doesn't have dirt on him anymore, but still has a little cut on his cheek ^.^)

Hi there !

It's been a long time since my last update, I am so sorry ( for the few that are following my posts :p )
I still have difficulties to find time for my Visual Novel because of my job.
But it keeps going, slowly but steady !

Thank you to all the kind people who took the time to answer the little survey about my demo :D
I decided that this game will be " Pay what you want " so completely free unless you want to donate something :)
By the way, I want to add a this little question for the next people who will play the demo :) ( or for the ones that played it and want to answer it ^^ )

Hi guys!
It’s been a long time (again) but a lot of work has been done and this is a big update :D

First, I decided to update the presentation cards of the characters. So now you can know more relevant information about them.

Then I’m happy to say that the story of the game is complete!
I took the time to write the story, let it rest for a time then read it again to made some change where it was needed.
The word count of the full story is about 105 000 words.
And now I can tell you that there is a lot of endings.
Goods, bad, neutral and maybe true…?
Maybe I’ll post an image of the branchings in a next update :)

And last, but not least :
The entirety of the story script is proofread!
I had the chance to have a person who played the demo to offer me to proofread the game when it would be finished and when I contacted her, she immediately started.
I’m really happy and grateful to her for helping me so fast.

Hi guys!
How have you been doing? :)

For me, these past weeks have been busy! But I found the time to work on “Up until the end” :p
Even if right now I’m not feeling very well as I am sick :( hopefully it will heal fast ^^


So for the work that has been done:

I wanted to improve the sprites of the characters, so I worked on Erika’s.

Hi guys!
I hope that your week has been good :)

This week I worked on keeping on programming, and some progress has been made, I hope that I can keep up with this rhythm.

And I thought that I would like to refine a little the GUI of the game, so I did! I added some color and I think that this is a little more linked to the theme of the game now.

Hi guys!
Merry Christmas! And sorry for the late update, I didn’t have much time to do it ^^

So these past weeks I worked on programming (again ^^ ) and it’s progressing well.
I thought a lot about promoting the demo. I keep thinking that there is not enough people who know the demo, so in the end not enough people will be interest in the full game when this one will be finished.

For now, I posted on forum (Lemmasoft, Fuwanovel ), I have my tumblr blog where I post update, itchio where I post update too and a facebook page and twitter account. I think that there is not much more I can do, but as I see that not a lot of people are viewing/downloading the demo, I think that maybe I do something wrong….
So do you have any advices about how to share the demo to the most people possible?
How do you think I can enlarge and improve the efficiency of my networking ?

I also thought that the thumbnail for the game wasn’t, maybe, appealing enough. So I made a new one, I hope that you will like it!
