Looking for compelling stories coupled with great sexy action? We are BeerBrew and Sharkie of Studio Paper Waifu, and thanks for trying out our game, Ramen no Oujisama (or The Ramen Prince)!

This is a H-visual novel that chronicles the loves and tribulations of a young man who, thanks to a generous benefactor, is starting fresh in a new city and opening a new ramen restaurant. Along the way, he meets an eclectic cast of characters, and eventually must learn to juggle business with pleasure. Can he get the girl of his dreams?

...That said, I looked at your Patreon page for a minute or two. I tried to find details about the characters and their dilemmas, but had trouble finding information. I think you'll benefit by telling people who's in your story, and what they want to achieve.

A brief and somewhat off-topic opinion on a word that I don't especially like:

@hentai - I suppose now that I think about it,the word hentai is more direct towards the idea of adult cartoony and anime stuff, while eroge maintain a level of dignity of sorts as the hentai art is to be taken in along with the other multimedia and interactive aspects that make the game no?

Hentai is actually a Japanese word (変態).
One of the definitions, at least the one most closely associated with the genre of VN, literally means 'pervert' in English.

I can somewhat relate to gekiganwing's opinion on the usage of the word. xD

Haha! Yes yes. Reminds me back in the 90s.. when looking for such things was rather difficult. And so people eventually looked for the broadest search term for it. The more Japanese you know, the stranger you feel when you see how the west uses some of the terms used in Japan. Case in point: the word otaku hehe

We've given equal loving to the story and h art aspects of the game, so don't worry, it's definitely not just for fapping entertainment. In fact, some players in Newgrounds were playing for an hour or so wondering why it's in the adult section until they reach those parts!

More and more people are starting to learn a bit of Japanese, too, due to the whole anime culture.

I think it was a pretty interesting point to bring up, though! I really wouldn't have thought to mention it, even with the knowledge.

Mostly because I've been desensitized to the word, due to so much mainstream usage. xD

I think that's really good to mention, and I think it's important.
Especially if the story is capable of moving the player's feelings!

I mean in a good way, though. Not talking Clannad type 'move the player's feelings', but the romance. :3

The artwork is very good in my opinion, too.
It's not extremely detailed, but it is crisp and concise, with very vivid colors and well depicted.
I could only imagine the special scenes. xD

I remember stumbling on to 90s h artists web pages back then and you'd get bits and pieces of ecchi artwork. How did I stumble on the word though... I must've looked up "cartoon sex or sexy" or something before I reached a page explaining what the general term was! And I was using a text based browser back then too, not even AOL or that Prodigy thing.

New builds available: 64-bit Windows, MacOS and Linux! Couldn't test the MacOS and Linux versions since we don't have these around. If anyone can try them out and tell us about it, that'd be awesome!

Hey everyone!
I think it's about time to update the Prince of Ramen demo over at NewGrounds with the new v0.3.0 ALPHA build. Understandably, our rating is stuck at 3.46, which is what was given by NG user's judgement when we put out our game demo at v0.05. So we'll put the current version of the game and have it judged again, hopefully this time we can garner much better ratings given what we put into this in the last 6 months .

If I may humbly ask our fans and supporters to drop by the new NG game link and give it a judgement score and updated review, when it's up, we'd be very happy!
We'll post an update about this and the NewGrounds link later.

We'll also be posting up about a new Android build as well, and we'll also be updating the current downloadables for our patrons as well.

Hey guys!

We're glad to announce that v0.3.0 is finally available in GJ. We've updated the desktop and Android versions here and in our Patreon page, so please do give those a go if the online version is giving you problems .

A note about the online version: Black boxes - sometimes you might see characters turning into black boxes or that the the game "hanged". We've been experiencing some strangeness with WebGL recently, and we think it might be connected with the recent/latest version of Chrome as we haven't had this problem a month or two ago. So if you encounter this, a simple browser page refresh should fix it, or if you're able to, just load up a new game or a save game.

There are several new bits about this version. For one, 3 character routes are now fully playable! We've also added two Secret Codes . Players can now save (almost) anytime, anywhere, and we've sped up the fast forward button, too! We've also done fixes on artwork, dialog, and code. There are now 15 animated scenes in total!

We've decided to stick with the old NewGrounds link and keep updating that one.

I had downloaded a very early version of this story and found it very interesting; today I stumbled across the latest update (version 3.0) and decided to take a look at it. Well, that blew the rest of my day! Had to play through and get all the ends, good and bad, which I finally was able to accomplish.

This is wonderfully well done; the story line is excellent on all the play through arcs, the art is excellent, as well as the animations. If there is more to come, I will certainly look forward to it.

By the way, I am using a mac, OSX 10.7.5, Safari version 6.1.6 and the story loaded and played flawlessly. Great job!
