A thriller-themed story driven linear visual novel with some gameplay elements allowing you to interact freely with characters, clues and locations to offer a deepest comprehension of the story.

Due to the story structure, it's nigh impossible to tell the story without spoilers, hence for now only a small "outline" can be shared :
The hero is Susumu Tokunaga, a substitute teacher back to his hometown for what might be his final course as he becomes unwilingly involved in a series of dissapearances and grisly murders.
At the end of the first chapter, the player realizes that the Hero is a police officer whose duty is to protect one of the students from a possible abduction. Dramatic events unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearances of dozens of citizens. With a serial abductor/serial killer using social media to showcase his "works", Susumu Tokunaga has to decide wether he's going to protect his childhood crush or to fulfill his duty and protect the student.

Expectations :

Albeit the synopsis doesn't hint at anything spectacular, some of the screenshots might provoke a reaction, hence if you can share that first impression, it'll be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

if you can share that first impression, it'll be highly appreciated.

OK. That's a lot of characters...40 characters and 400 facial expression!? Why?... It's a kinetic novel...OK...with 1 good ending and 4 bad ending... How!? Is it based on if player scores with those mini games? Can this be called kinetic novel if outcome of the story can be changes?... wait, 200 backgrounds!? That's ambitious.

*Look at character profile*
Character weight...180?? Was it supposed to be height?

*Look at screenshots*
Hmm... wondering how those investigating mini games work...

*See the last screenshots*
Zombie!! :D Oh wait... just someone dying from gas in the room. :(

Game status: 100% - well done!

Look at the story synopsis again... hero is Susumu Terajima... look at the character profile... his name is Susumu Tokunaga... is this the same person? Maybe he's the brother, who also a teacher? Airi Suda... weight 100... would she consider being on a diet soon?

Looking forward to know more about those mini games.

...well, those are pretty much my first impression as I went through the detail. :D

Thank you for your input.
- Character's weights are in pounds.
- Thank you so much for pointing out I mispelled the character's name. I just fixed it.
- I edited the post so people can see how the investigating mini games work.
- Since some characters can have a different outfit, some have 10*5 facial expressions, others minor characters only have three.
- The end cannot be changed, the choices allow only a glimpse of the ending from another perspective, this is why I do believe it's borderline between kinetic, visual and adv.

The term that you'd want is "linear visual novel." Since it has both choices, gameplay, and different endings, it really doesn't qualify as a kinetic novel.

In fact, even linear visual novel might not be an appropriate label. How can there be four bad ends and one good end, but they're really all the same end?

- Indeed the game qualifies as a linear visual novel after reading the definitions more cautiously.
- The endings are the same on one level (we find out who the murderer is), and different on another level (the hero finds out after confronting him, the hero finds out after being framed, the hero finds out years later after the murderer passes away).

Thank you for the clarification, it's highly appreciated.

Ohhh, I see! That's a really interesting way to do the ends. And it's no problem. ^_^
