Metallic Hearts
Makoto Itsuki, having been away from his birthplace of Japan for many years, finds himself returning under less than favorable circumstances. Preparing himself for what he expects to be a new, boring existence, he stumbles into a collection of secrets both old and new that make his disruptive departure seem tame in comparison. For one so terminally bored, at first the collusion of military secrets, decades-old conspiracies and potentially cultish fringe groups seem like a downright godsend. Even the military robot that bursts from a cabinet in his crawlspace seems like the most fun he's had in years.
Until a fiendish but charming apparition starts haunting his every waking hour, encouraging him to dive deeper, to surrender to chaos and unrest. To uproot stability and end his boredom forever. The choices ahead are not always clear, and the consequences are varied. From a quaint domestic existence with a Nazi robot to starting a war between nations, Makoto's choices can change the story drastically as well as the characters surrounding him.
