ABOUT:

Fate's Bite is a story following a young woman who just returned from years of boarding school abroad. Pressured by the head maid, she returns home to attend a lavish ball. However, it seems her past (including the parts she is oblivious to) has followed her once again. After accidentally bumping into a stranger she faints, awaking in a strange mansion.


Eight strangers tower above her. They mention a Foretelling, the life-changing meeting of a human and a vampire. However, it seems they grabbed the wrong human. To avoid death she must continue with the Foretelling, choosing a soulmate who is directly linked to her.







CHARACTERS:

There are eight men, all romance-able, all with their own dark, twisted pasts.

Alfred: The former best friend who has turned a cold shoulder to Emcee.




Arthur: The vampire whose mood can turn on a dime, from all smiles to sinister glares.




Feliciano: A flirtatious vampire with a love for seeing Emcee scared.




Francis: A vampire who never means what he says, treating Emcee like a toy.




Ivan: A generally easy-going vampire who has a not-so-hidden dark side.




Kiku: A sadistic vampire who loves to treat Emcee like a servant rather than a soulmate.




Ludwig: A no-nonsense vampire who will punish anyone breaking the rules.




Yao: A vampire with the most knowledge of the Foretelling and perhaps the darkest secret of all.

This project began a few years ago by a team on Tumblr by Mochigi; I was added as a writer. Unfortunately the team fell apart and the project was dropped. With permission I was able to resurrect the project and have been publishing it to Wattpad as a fanfiction. I'm quite excited and devoted to this VN and can't wait to see it become a full-fledged game. So far it's a team of one, though I hope to expand!

Game includes possible triggers such as abuse, torture, and suicide.

What do you think about the premise? Vampires are a classic, but I have to admit, the fact that it's based on Hetalia draws me in quite a bit.

Do you enjoy visual novels with dark themes? Certainly. I feel like there are a few boundaries that I wouldn't cross/read, but that's me personally. As long as stories are tagged with proper warning and subject matters handled with respect, I think it's fine. (I think there are many levels of this, depending on how dark a route you want to go.)

What do you think of the cast? I'm a little surprised at Feli and Kiku's personality descriptions. Certainly makes me interested in the story.

Thanks so much for your comment! On the game release page/info section I'll list any possible warnings. Feliciano and Kiku may seem a little out of character, though that's due to their (vampire) pasts.

Here are some character sketches and brief bios for the cast. (All character art + CGs drawn by Akua)


Cancer. July 14th.

Likes: Roses, confidence, tea, anything aesthetically appealing.

Dislikes: Tears, weaknesses, imperfections *besides in “beauty”*.

Info: He seems to have lost every bit of attachment within him, and although he may whisper sweet words into READER’s ear, he is not genuine about it in any way. Still, Francis is a strong believer in true beauty, and appreciates everything appealing to the eye.




Taurus. April 23rd.

Likes: Teasing others, cake, thunderstorms.

Dislikes: Being manipulated, religion.

Character Info: Arthur is the most confusing out of the eight, as he has a “double personality”. On the surface, he seems to be a giant teaser, but that is due to the arrogance and hot-headedness bubbled within. Whenever READER irks him, Arthur’s true colors begin to shine, and he replaces his sweet words with nasty ones.


Aquarius. February 11th.

Likes: sleep, music, guitar, desserts, cats, cheesy jokes.

Dislikes: people, medicine, sour food.

Character Info: To fully understand Kiku, READER may wish to take a deeper look into his personality. This seemingly ill-mannered, loud-mouthed man is a lot more tender than it seems, and if one prods at the right places, they will find a simply insecure soul.

Cancer. July 4th.

Likes: Lack of restrictions, the ocean, being alone, piano.

Dislikes: Loud noises, friendship, sweets.

Character Info: Even though Alfred is reader’s childhood friend, he greets her coldly, crumbling their once strong ties of friendship like it had never existed. He harbors a deep seated grudge towards reader however she can’t remember why.

Libra. October 3rd.
Likes: Cooking, tea, hair gel, dogs, books, discipline.
Dislikes: Garrulous people, hugs, bad manners.
Character Info: Ludwig is strict, uptight, and even frightening at times. He yearns for a world with many rules and regulations to keep its inhabitants away from harm. Could Ludwig’s rigid mindset possibly be connected to READER, and is his heart softer than it seems?

Hey all! I've still been making good progress on the game. Each character route is about 1/5th done, give or take. Here's a mock screenshot of a scene on Yao's Route~ The game will typically look like this though small changes may be made.






I'm also finding nice transition animations as well.

I hope to add another update soon!

Aries. March 17th.
Likes: Pomegranates, hugs, humming, puppets
Dislikes: Liars, being alone
Character Info: At first glance Feliciano may appear to be a sweet yet childish being, but after closer observation, he is revealed to have a monstrous side bottled within him. Feliciano enjoys watching his prey suffer the most and although he is described as being an “idiot”, this man is a lot more clever than he seems.

Good News! All sprites have been drawn and the CG for the demo is in the works. (Please show Akua some love!~) Half of the character's prologues have been created in the engine, which means the demo should be released within a few days!
