Thank you everyone who has pledged or even been following the progress! I am so excited to create a game all of you will enjoy, and hopefully create some lasting memories.

So we've reached our goal, that's great! However, if we can obtain even more funding it'll mean more features for you, the player, to enjoy such as:
  • More CGs
    Animated Characters
    More un-lockable content
    Animated Transitions
    and more!
Stretch Goal: $245

Breakdown

How I got the estimate and where the funds would be going:

CG costs: $150
Character Animations: $95

Those are the main features I'm looking to implement. If we raise more I can add in the Transition and CG animations.

Downloaded the demo to my mac and played through; it appeared to work fine, although it was annoying to have the story pause every few minutes to load more. And CloudNovel told me I had to log in before I could do a save.

The demo was short, so not much of the story was exposed, however it seems interesting, from what I could see.

I would have been much more at ease if the story was made using RenPy.

Thanks for your feedback! It loads much faster for Windows users unfortunately. (I myself have to use a Mac). The demo is quite short; I'll update it with more content and story once the Mac problem is solved. I may port it into RenPy if I can find/commission a programer.

I am currently adding more scenes and BGM to the demo. Also, 4 of 5 CGs have been funded through Kickstarter! <3 This includes a secret ending for $5 backers and route events.

All CGs have been funded! :) All extra funds will go towards CG animations~ I hope to polish up the demo soon. I heard some players are having difficulties with the downloaded version. After updating the demo I'll provide new versions on Itch.io

New Stretch Goals: $130
Rewards:

-CG animations

All funds received from this point on will go towards funding animations for the CGs. I hope this will enliven the game in a way words cannot.

CG Breakdown:

-Two are from the main route
-Four from Takeo's route
-Three from Takeo's route

Character routes include a CG for one of the endings, available for $5 backers.

Last 23hrs of Kickstarter + Updates

Hello everyone! We're in the last 23 hours of the Kickstarter! I'm so happy that we were not only able to meet our goal but go above and beyond. :) I'm truly thankful. I've learned so much about crowdfunding and professionally developing a visual novel for others to enjoy.

So, what's new?

For starters I ended up including more CGs! Four of them will be animated with movements and effects. Also character animations are in the works! This includes blinking as well as their Yokai parts moving. :)

The game will be released in January, as Cloudnovel will be updating it's site then. I will publish a demo and create a poll asking others if they would like partial voice acting included in the game. (Think of Autumn's Journey).

Update: 12/12 GUI and Script Progress

Hello everyone!

I've been revamping the game's design with some fresh GUI, bringing in a little color.

The choice box. The text box is identical.

Also the characters have blinking animations, hopefully bringing in a little more life to the game.

As for writing, the prologue and first chapter script is completed! I've brought along a co-writer to the team which will make the writing go by much faster. In about a week or so the Kickstarter funds will be deposited into my account which means I'll be able to start commissioning the CGs! ^_^

Chapter One Progress + CG Preview

Hello everyone! I hope you had a nice holiday/break ^-^

Back to some developmental news, I've been plugging the script into the game engine and am half-way through Chapter One! (It's a lot longer than I thought it'd be ;;)

I received a finished CG as well as a sketch for the secret route, so you can expect the CGs semi-regularly now. However there is just one CG artist, so as much as I want to publish the game in January, it may not be possible >< The artist said they would shoot for the deadline though, and I'll keep updating you as often as I can!

CGs, GUI and Engine Updates

Hello everyone! How have you been? All CGs have been finished and added to the game library. Also the main menu (+ save and load menus) have been completed by the wonderful DAX.

Their eyes open/close when you hover over the buttons.

There are steady updates to the game engine, one being an additional 20+ fonts. The newest are character polls where you can vote for your favorite character and route! The one I'm most looking forward to is video implementation, which means the game will have smoother, HQ transitions as well as slight CG animations. There's a teeny thing I'm waiting for and then I can publish the demo!

I'll be sure to keep updating as new progress is made! Thank you for following this far.
