The VR Girl

Hi everyone.

I am brand new at making VA games and just started using Renpy and ATOM however i do have basic website design programming skills which is helping me learn quickly. I just wanted to stop by and announce the project i am working on .

The game is called at the moment (The VR girl W.I.P) The story is about 2 programmers who are working at a VR company on a revolutionary VR companion. A learning A.I that adapts to the needs of the user. The 2 boys are attending evening classes to improve their skills and both work part time at Gravy Games (w.i.p stand in firm title may change in the future).

Our main characters are Tom who is the protagonist and his best friend Theodore. Both are in their early 20's and have never had a real relationship. What little do they know is that they will both be drawn to something they created. However something happens and the VR girl ends up in our world, what will happen and what are the implications of falling for something that is not even considered alive?.

That is an early indication of what my story and tale is about. I have made a main theme for my current game and will be making all the music in the VA. I am using pre made sprites for this and they may change in the future.

I cant wait to get cracking and showcase not only my musical skills but my story telling as well, as this is something i have always dreamed of doing, and i am now putting those thoughts into action.

When the game is ready, it will be free to play.

This is a very early build. Much to improve upon, its about 8 mins long so far. Feedback is welcome. I am also learning, I did this in about 6 hours or so, not including time making all the soundtracks for the game. Thanks.

Okay Update. Chapter 1 is complete at least story wise. I am working on fixing the remaining problems.

I just made the 2nd trailer to celebrate my completion of chapter 1.
1.1a is in the works. Chapter 2 will be started in a few days or so. Maybe a week. I would appreciate any support this community can give me. I did all the music. coding. sourcing. editing in photoshop myself. I was told this was a good place to come for new visual novel/game devs. So I hope someone will take an interest.
My dream has always to make games in some form. Now i am finally doing that. All for free as well. I do not aim to charge for my projects. I just want people to enjoy my work and let me know if they do or dont like it!. Thanks for reading I hope you do check out my work. Thanks.

It is a completely different game since the last post. I have changed/added tones.

The game contains 894 dialogue blocks, containing 11,273 words and 57,686
characters, for an average of 12.6 words and 65 characters per block.

The game contains 8 menus, 79 images, and 23 screens.

I am not even close to finishing this project yet. Please play it and let me know what you think. If you like it. Share it around I want as many people to play my first ever game as possible. Thanks

I see that on your itch.io store page, you show pictures of your characters, talk about them, and show screenshots. I feel that you should bring those elements to the first post of this thread to help people get intrigued~! ^^
You put effort into the storefront on itch.io and that is good, but on here, all we see is text and links~! Please show us know how cool your game is over here as well, by treating this thread like another store page.
It will help grow interest~ <3
