[DEMO OUT!][Kickstarter][Sci-Fi][RPG/VN] Yomi Alliance - Sci-Fi RPG/Visual Novel

#1 Post by Bruni Multimedia »

A Science Fiction Visual Novel unlike anything else
Join Yomi Alliance Academy and become a Starship Officer in this unique role playing Visual Novel. You are the lead character, but events won't revolve around you as the space is a huge space and you're but an ant there.

Choose who you want to be with each species and gender which will change gameplay and dialogues, putting you in greater risks or shielding you from the Galactic Community's opinion. Become who you always wanted to be in a Sci-Fi opera and do your job to help in dangerous missions which will require skill and preparation.
  • Attend Yomi Academy: a game-within-the-game experience which will prepare your character with all the skills he/she/shem needs to survive in the outer space!
  • A 70+ hours long Visual Novel with RPG elements with an everchanging story based on your choices and actions!
  • An adult plot featuring space exploration, social conflict, politics, love and betrayal.
  • Choose a specialization from a range of 7 and a job from over 21 different choices
  • Every different job activates different events during missions and situations, meaning you can replay the game dozens of times to discover something new in the story, gameplay or interactions with other characters.
  • Choose your character's species from 4 different ones, and choose the gender as well. Introducing an hermafrodit species in the game, people will react to you differently and even the romance options you'll be getting will play differently.
  • Explore 4 different romance options with each character having her own agenda and personality.
  • Adult scenes are featured in the game with all kinds of romantic partners. Adult scenes can be completely removed in the Settings menu.
  • Full-HD graphics with special user interfaces designed by our talented, awesome graphics designer Sasquatchii.
  • Interactive consoles and cinematics.
  • Monthly story updates which will keep you stick to your screen for hours!

Huge Replayability
You can get to choose a wide variety of jobs and specializations as follows:
Command School(choose to become a Commander, Representative, Manager, Navigator or Hot Shot Pilot)
Engineering School (choose to become a Mechanic, Specialist, Starship Designer or System Specialist)
Operations School (choose to become a Basic Operator or an Operations Manager)
Security School (choose to become a Security Officer, Investigator or Tactical Officer)
Counseling School (choose to become a Interspecies Relationship Expert or a Psychologist)
Medical School (choose to become an Alien Specialist, an Emergency Medic or a Doctor)
Science School (choose to become an Astrometrics, Science, Social Surveyor or Planetary Surveyor Officer)

Each school means different stories in the game and every playthrough is different with each career choice!

One of the first missions in the game will be to reply to a distress call from an orbital station which was attacked by unknown assailants. If you play as a Navigator you will be tasked to navigate between the hazards of the region, or maybe escape or intercept an hostile vessel. If you play as a Security Officer you might be tasked to join a boarding party to secure the station, while if you play as a Doctor you might be tasked to deal with survivors and injured people... Nothing is the very same in Yomi Alliance!

Also, every different job will feature its own gameplay design, as of using consoles, interfacing with the computer or interviewing prisoners. It's all up to your choice and you can play the game dozens of times to have a different side of the story to unfold!

Deep, Engaging Storyline
You will be able to play a character whose species is chosen amongst FOUR different options and three genders (one species is a mixed gender hermafrodit as well!).
This choice will also affect your story as people will react to you differently and even the romance options you’ll be getting will play differently.
There will be 4 different romance options in the game and each character has its own agenda and personality so they are all different each time you play them! The different outcomes given by your choices are literally by the dozen!

Adult Content
You can enable or disable adult content via the Main Menu interface.
Adult content features mild violence, sexual intercourse with FULL-HD animated sex scenes and adult themes, including dealing with racism, terrorism and prejudice.

What I wish from this thread
My hope is for you to support this ambitious, huge project with suggestions, impressions about the game, idea on how to improve it during development and, why not, supporting my Patreon www.patreon.com/generalpractitioner and Kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/br ... sual-novel(this last one especially).

I'm sure you will like this game, because it's something new in the Visual Novel scenario as many games featured here are, and because I really believe in this project!

What do you think about it?

Greetings fellow doctors!

Kickstarter for Yomi Alliance is LIVE and will be up for the next 30 days!

I am very excited about this game, because its scope and size will be even bigger than General Practitioner, which is already a 60-hours long Visual Novel.

Being an indie developer means I completely rely on crowdfunding and Early Access support for my games, and in exchange for that I always strive and do my best to bring you entertaining videogames which are not only fun, but also different from what you can find around the industry.

It's a bold project, the one I started two years and half ago with GP, and now I'm moving on with my third game, and that's THANKS TO YOU!

A demo is available on the Kickstarter's page, and a Steam one will be added in a matter of days (Steam is reviewing the software right now), but the contents for the two demos are the same and include a 1-2 hours of content from various parts of the game.

I hope you will enjoy Yomi Alliance and all the games I'm going to publish in the near future!

Remember that many crowdfunding tiers also come with a digital copy of the game, so what are you waiting for? You only have 30 days to support development!

Link to the kickstarter page can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/br ... ject_build#

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Please help me understand something: I published three games on Steam, hundreds if not thousand of people are playing them with nice reviews and this has become my full time job since last year. I published something that I really believe it's entertaining, but it could also be very bad indeed, with new ideas (I haven't seen many elements of my games around Visual Novels, so I guess they're quite new), I published demos and videos and still....

At all? I mean, not even to remark how bad the game is, if it is bad?

I don't get it, I really don't. Maybe it's me, maybe it's the game, maybe it's bad luck, but I really can't believe I make such terrible games that I don't deserve even a "Hey" on this awesome forum. :(

hi, I think one possible reason that you don't get comments is because your characters are pre-rendered and most fans of visual novels here seem to prefer hand drawn I think (?) I just saw your game now. It's been a while that I checked this forum.

My own novel is entirely based on pre-rendered graphics (using DAZ studio) and I received comments from two people so far on lemma (my first post being in March 2018).

I downloaded your novel and I will tell you my impressions:
*I like the music. Gives the right atmosphere I think.
*I would recommend changing the font style. Looks a bit bland now.
*It's nice having RPG stats, scheduled activities and relationship development to flesh out and support a wider story line. With the discovery of the space station, I think the story looks promising.
*Backgrounds look very good and I particularly liked the moving intro views with the space ship.
*Characters look ok, but personally I get bored quickly when I see characters simply pop up on screen in stereotypical ways.
*It took me a while to figure out what to do on the screen where you are scanning the station. Graphically it's incredibly well done, but I thought for a while I had a bug and that I couldn't get past it.
*I am not into adult stuff.

Feel free to check out and comment on my novel too :)

Thank you for your feedback! It is very appreciated.

As for the hand-drawn graphic you're right, I LOVE that myself, but it tends to cost A LOT and I really need to budget out things since this is just my third game. I hope one day I can have hand-drawn characters as well (I am already developing an idea about that in some way in fact). The same applies to "stereotypical" ways for characters to interact. If I'll ever reach the stretch goal on Kickstarter (it's a VERY long shot just to get backed right now) I'll add more graphic and animations, but those things tend to cost as well unfortunately.

Adult stuff can be completely switched OFF by a setting, because I'm aware not everybody want to do that and some might just play the game for its sci-fi content :D

Thanks a lot mate, I'd love to have a look at your novel as well!

I don't think you're terrible! But you do have a few factors weighing against you in terms of comments here.

1- This forum gets less traffic than it used to! A surprising amount of topics are almost entirely the dev talking to themselves.

2- Audience. While there absolutely is an audience for big 3d-rendered Patreon adult games, it tends not to be THIS forum. I don't really know where fans of those games congregate but based on how many of them I see on VNDB there must be a big market for it!

My immediate reaction when looking at this thread myself went quickly from "Oh, cool!" to "I'm not sure about this" to "this probably isn't for me."

The 'oh cool' because hey, sci-fi game with lots of options, it's one of the things I might make myself someday, I'm interested in that.

"I'm not sure about this" because the sheer number of options you're listing... I have experience working with a big project that risks getting out of hand, and I'm very cautious about a single writer being able to keep track of all that and ACTUALLY make it all meaningful rather than kind of perfunctory.

"This is probably not for me" - the graphical style and the bits of text visible in the screenshots made it feel that it probably wasn't going to be my style of game. That's just personal taste.

Thanks for your feedback papillon!

I'm experienced in developing huge games, I have been a software developer for more than 10 years and I know my way around coding. Also, my previously released game "General Practitioner" is a huge project which took me two years and a half to complete, so that was a big game as well :D

Have you tried the demo? I think it's the best way to understand if a project is tasty enough for you :D

Either way, thanks a lot! I really need feedback like yours!
