Date and find love or the sun goes out.
The player character is half out of (his/her/their) senior year of high school when a shared dream with Grandma lets them know that someone in the family must be in love or the sun will go out.
Love is totally the kind of thing you rush under pressure.
Trailer
Dawn
Dawn is the love interest. She is a compassionate woman that hasn't chosen a direction for her life yet. She won't get the chance if the sun goes out first.
Conney
Conney Avond is Dawn's best friend, who has gotten very busy preparing for her future to the detriment of her friendships and she urges everyone else to do the same.No relationships. No distractions.
If Conney doesn't like the player, it results in a game over.
Chapter 2 of the story is out and includes:
- 2 Dates
1-3 hours of play
250+ images
Fun supporting cast
A tedious amount of game overs
Avoidable lore!
And existential dread!
The Future
There are six total chapters planned for the game. Chapters 3-5 will have three dates, three events, and one large event each. Chapter six will be a climatic sun crisis.Concerns
We chose to focus on one girl (Dawn) and make the story big and rich for her with diverging paths for variety.
Chapter 1 is sparse to make room for future routes with other girls if there is interest.
The game is currently free but we might start charging for chapter 3.
Ugh, all of my images were too big. Fixing it took so much longer than I wanted.
Questions
There is a chapter conclusion that breaks the fourth wall and I love it. Would it be worth it to keep working in aware chapter bumpers?
How soon should more routes be added?
What other characters would you like to see as romances?
Does there need to be more lore? (say no)
How distractingly ugly are Grandma and Kusi's character models?
More fun dream sequences?
How best to keep all members of the team feel ownership over their work?
