Ripples - Android Testers Wanted

#1 Post by sake-bento »

Hey, all! I just tried out PyTom's new RAPT, and I thiiink I managed to port Ripples decently. As I only have one Android device for myself, I was hoping that anyone here who has one could also give it a spin to see if it works correctly.

I'm getting crashing on my xoom - but it looks like it's on the Ren'Py end. I'll fix it and let you know when it's safe to make a release.

Strange though, I played it fine from beginning to end on the Asus Eee pad!
Maybe the Android version matters? I have 3.2

The problem has been fixed - it was actually a glitch in the presplash code, which doesn't have anything in common with the Ren'Py code.

I don't think so - I just don't think it's that broken. It's one of those "works on some but not on others" problems. I wouldn't release with it - but there will be a fix in the next day or so.

The game doesn't seem to run at all on my Samsung Galaxy S II, I just get a black screen for a few seconds before the game crashes completely. I'm running android 2.3.3, if that helps.

Played Ripples on Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9. :) No glitches or any bugs.

Only thing that bothered me was the difference in volume in Kuu's and Koda's voices (although the problem was only very apparent when Koda's tone rises/angry/annoyed). Aside from that, the game looks great and plays great! ^_^

Everything worked perfectly in an Acer Iconia 500 (Android 3.2). Voices, music, save/load, leaving the game then reloading, clicking fast to go forward, clicking fast to go back.
Keep your script in your Dropbox folder.
It allows you to share files with your team, keeps backups of previous versions, and is ridiculously easy to use.

It also worked in a Galaxy Mini (Android 2.3.6), although the 240*320 resolution didn't do the art justice, and there was some flicker when images changed.

Updating to the latest RAPT should fix crashes on Ice Cream Sandwich.

Just updated to the latest version. If it didn't work before, do give it a spin again.
