Lineart....
I was wondering.... for linearts, should I use Photoshop (I use elements or SAI???
For coloring and sprite linearts, I'm using SAI (good blending 8D)

Re: Lineart....
lol most people do the opposite xD So I find this quite interesting
You seem more proficient in using photoshop for the lines, despite them being a bit thicker, they have more personality to them.

Re: Lineart....
For SAI, were you using the vector tool to make your lines? If so, I don't think you're using them to their full potential since there are ways to adjust the vector lines so they look like they've been drawn. Speaking of drawn, have you tried using the pen tool in SAI as well? You can adjust the pen settings so the looks fit to your taste.
The Photoshop lineart doesn't look too bad in the slightest, however, so if you're more comfortable using that and then SAI for coloring, it should be fine.

Re: Lineart....
Whichever is easiest for you. I use sai because my comp is too slow to make nice drawings in photoshop (it lags horribly =_=; )
I agree that the photoshop lines look nicer because they have more variation in thickness, but either way I suggest practicing putting heaviness on the lines where it's most needed (Usually wherever the shadow's the darkest)

Re: Lineart....
I like the Photoshop lines a lot better, it gives it more flow, whereas the SAI lines look very unnatural.
Re: Lineart....
The photoshop one does indeed look better. Have you tried the pen tool in SAI, though? It has a stabilizer which helps make neat lines, super fast.

You know what I like about you? You're confident and brave to explore, and you don't seem to be down by anyone. Your art is cute too ^^
I'm more of a SAI user, since Photoshop really lacks for me. There's a special section for lineart in SAI, incase you didn't know, but honestly I don't do, I directly use the Pen and Brush.
Good luck!

Re: Lineart....
thanks for the feedbacks, guys 8D
Since CG's are pretty big(and because of your feedbacks), I'll be using Photoshop for linearts now..

Re: Lineart....
Sorry for bumping an old thread.
I notice the lines of your test_sai.png file were drawn without pressure sensitivity. I think SAI just doesn't recognize your pen tablet. There may be something wrong with the settings or driver.

Re: Lineart....
SAI wasn't made for Macs so even though you could download it, of course it wouldn't use sensitivity pressure.

Re: Lineart....
Hmmm I think Sai is better for lineart...I use its pen tool and lines comes sharpier than Photoshop(Who makes lines a little bit blurry)

Re: Lineart....
I use SAI in Mac with sensitivity pressure.
I'm using a Virtual machine program called "Parallels" that let me install a Windows 7 copy and lets me run windows programs directly in OSX.
It's quite nice, actually, though it's a tiny bit lagger than drawing on SAI on a computer with Windows.
Maybe you could do that too? (:

When drawing something, anything, USE REFERENCES!! Use your Google-fu!
Don't trust your memory, and don't blindly trust what others teach you either.
Research, observation, analysis, experimentation and practice are the key! (:
