How do you make your character change its facial expressions when it only has one pose?

Re: Just wondering (again)
Simple: be lazy and just edit the face of the sprite while leaving the rest untouched in your picture editing program. If you're working in layers, you can just draw the face on a separate layer from the rest of the body.
If you're talking about doing this in Ren'Py code, you can use this nifty thing.

Deji has a good descriptionl on her process here: http://deji.ishtera.net/blog/?p=1899
Basically to make a neat sprite you abuse layers in your digital painting program to the nth degree.

It'll probably be easier for people to help you if instead of asking "just wondering" in your topic title, you post something that pertains to your question (such as in this thread "How do I change facial expressions on my character?")
These questions are asked often, you should try to search for your answer in the search tool on here or through a search engine like google before asking. You'll find your answer a lot faster.
