Where can I get free Non-Copyright Blackgrounds for my game?

Hi everyone,
I'm making my first game and found tons of backgrounds for it over the net, but then I found out, by a friend of mine who works in game creations that I can't use them because they are probably copyright. I never knew about this before and am worried to use them, so does anyone know where I can get loads of free and Non-Copyright backgrounds for my game.

I really need some that are not just citys, but countysides and fantasy towns and places like Derserts and waterfalls and realms. My game is fantasy and needs good backgrounds. I really need help finding some, does anyone have links I can use please.

Just look in the Creative Commons board (under the Asset: Music board) and you'll find some free bgs that can be used as long as you follow the licence. Fantasy settings might be difficult to find a full set for, but it's still somewhere to start from.
