I know... I have a Windows 7 machine on a separate laptop but most of my specialty program are installed on my XP machine had specific XP licenses that prevents me from jumping from XP to beyond. Also, I have set up my XP in a way that maximizes productivity. No matter how hard I try I just can't get used to Vista and 7... it's like an alternate dimension every time I look at them. It's like XP but only weirder and very hard to use...
Another thing is Adobe Photoshop 7... I heard it works on Vista and 7 but I've seen a few scary stories here and there and Adobe Photoshop 7 is one of those programs I can't live without...
It sucks but I feel like my Windows XP world is getting smaller by the minute... I'm starting to have problems here and there...
One of the things I follow in life is "If it's not broken, don't fix it" Like Ren'py... I can't make 6.14 version work properly so why bother... let's stick to 6.13 which I know works reliably. They have the latest Word?... I can do whatever you are doing using Word 2003. Why buy the latest Adobe Creative Suite when all I need is Photoshop 7 to accomplish the task I needed to do... I know deep down inside this will hurt me in the long run but that's just me and my stubborn nature... I'm too old now to be adventurous... I'd rather play it safe within my means
But who knows, maybe 5 to 6 years from now... eventually my XP machine will fail and force me to use Vista or 7 loaded with newer programs...

Isn't it amazing!?... Nearly a decade after it's release I'm still using it to it's fullest potential and be productive...

There is no magic... it's just that XP is just very good at what it does... BEING THE OPERATING SYSTEM OF THE GODS! But I may be slightly biased here given that I've been using XP for long time but it just had this user friendly atmosphere to it not found on other newer or older OS yet still brutal enough to remind you that Windows XP can take every single molestation and abuse you can toss at it...
Yes, I have Windows 7 on a laptop and even a top of the line Mac but both machines are rarely used. At the end of the day, I still go back, sit down and open my beloved program bloated Windows XP machine that I know will present me with the familiar albeit cluttered desktop I love...
