What do you think your current art style is like?
Very anime... and stuck somewhere between shounen and shoujo, I would like to think. It depends on the piece.
I have been told before that my style is faintly reminiscent of Hoshino Katsura's, but I don't really see it.
How would you describe it in three words?
Inconsistent pretty boys.
OTL
What style or changes in your style do you hope to achieve in future? Or have you achieved your ideal?
I'm fine with my style, I think... but i'd really like to see some consistencies and better skills in colouring and use of props. Backgrounds and characters are okay... but I cannot for the life of me draw something like a room interior, or someone sitting at a table. Objects held in hand, or just... around the image always look very out of place.
I have been doing a daily sketch/drawing for the past 148 days, and I can see some large improvements already in terms of anatomy and gestures (and speed), but i'm still lacking in the inanimate objects area.
Some style consistency would be nice as well... but that is more difficult because I am a very emotional artist. I would like to ditch the large eyes, but... they're SO hard to break away from >_>
I love my anime-esque style, but just a touch more realism would be really nice.
If you can, is there an artist or a 'singular' picture you can show to describe the future style you want?
Yesss
My favourite artist for a very long time has been Nayu, though Honyalala is a very close second place.
I think they have somewhat similar styles, at least in terms of colouring and anatomy. (Like they both draw Miku almost EXACTLY the same way.)
The fact that both of them can use cel shading so well just amazes me, and I would love to be able to colour like that one day. Also Honyalala's backgrounds like... good golly gosh. Even if you dont like yaoi, I would so recommend just playing Dramatical Murder for Honyalala's artwork... it's absolutely gorgeous.
