Japanese pose reference sites?
Japanese pose reference sites?
Hi,
Does anyone know a site with repository of 'cute' poses? The western pose sites I keep bumping into while googling have the actors look like they're in a stage play or pantomiming (wide, sweeping arcs, basically) which is not really suited for standard VN poses.
Anything except Posemaniacs -- I don't need the intricate muscle detail.

Posemanics Is a massive pose site with a few thousand poses.
Now to address your "issue." Anime and Cartoons are Simpler versions of the human form NOT the other way around. You take the more "realistic" designs and "dumb them down" to your style...
but you CAN search "Cute anime" on tumblr if you just want to copy someone else then have at it.

Re: Japanese pose reference sites?
http://doll-a.net/
It's the very first site that came out after I google-d it. It's in Japanese. From kids to girls to adult, they have it. I haven't explored the site that well yet but there is seem to be lack of male poses. Poses are silver-colored dolls and doesn't have muscles. There were a lot of moe-fied poses. I don't like moe very much so I don't really care to check this out + lack of male poses.
Also, there is a free software released by clipstudio called "Pose studio". It's a program especially designed to use as pose reference. I don't know if you can get it if you are outside in Japan but it never hurts to try. It's quite awesome but I don't use it very much. I prefer book references than something on the screen, since they hate me and I end up drawing what is on my mind instead. :/
EDIT: Okay, re-reading your post and thought doll-a.net might be what you are looking for. There are a lot of moe(cute) poses there.

Re: Japanese pose reference sites?
Maybe this has some?
http://www.sozaijiten.com/products/r/
It does have a lot of pics of people just doing stuff...
Not sure if the poses will be cute though.
But if you want cute girl poses ( can't help you with guys, sorry), how about looking at fashion magazines and such?
From what I remember, Japanese fashion magazines are filled with them to the point it gets annoying XD
