Anyone have tips on drawing more natural figures?

My first ever attempt at a sprite... I don't like it, but I expected as much. I need more practice and patience :/
I know some of the major problems (The hand being one of them >>), but if anyone has suggestions on handling different emotions, I would like to hear them. Maybe someone has a good way of doing it.

RAGE! My sprites never turn out the way I want! I don't know what is wrong *cry*. Ignore me, I think I am just tired. But I really don't know what the problem is. I think I should maybe start simpler, use simple cell shading or something. I don't know. Is it meant to be this hard? If anyone know why it doesn't look... right, I would be very grateful to have it pointed out >.>

Thank you YonYonYon I didn't realise I was that off with my anatomy. No wonder it was making me feel unsettled.
I tried again and I am much happier with the results! I think I may even be getting the hang of it. Ah, it is wonderful the kind of help you get here. I am very pleased -^^-

Lol it depends, I love the way it looks, very stylistic, how well does it fit with your sprites?

It feels very loose, but maybe defining it more would help,
the tables are a little rough compared to everything imo but better background than i could have ever drawn LoL.

I designed this character after a Greek vase.
What do you think about her design and/or anatomy? I accept any kinds of critics, feel free to open this image in your photoshop and correct it to your liking.
I might change the bottom part of her dress, that swirly pattern draws too much attention.
Not sure about her halo (she's supposed to be an angel but...), maybe I should remove it or draw something less complex.
Man, this visual novel is making me draw so many angels and demons. I'm starting to get really awkward designs.

Oooooh, I love her design! The only thing I notice that might need some work is her hands; at first I thought she didn't have any! I say keep the halo, but she's your character so it's up to you.
Edit: I just thought of something one of my friends pointed out a while ago when he was looking at his own art. A lot of artists draw the arms behind the body though in real life most people don't do that. I'll get a redline in a second.

While I'm here, here's something I completed recently. I did the coloring, a talented person that goes by the screenname leothefox on deviantart did the lines : D Forewarning, it's a bit, ehm, creepy. I like creepy crap xD;

Lotus: Thank you *o* . I agree, that hand looks BAD, it's too squared. I need to study hand anatomy better and stop putting hands behind the back and drawing stick arms. *grabs manuals*.
The way you corrected her arm with the redline... whoa, it sure makes a difference! It makes her pose look much more natural and appealing. I will have those modifications in consideration when drawing her sprites for the game (this is just a concept drawing ).
I will keep her halo, but I will remove some of the "dots" around it though.

Three quick sketches.
Yes; they're supposed to look a little alike; they're triplets. ^_^
They're part of a story that popped into my head the other day, and refuse to leave. Thinking about making their story, but with Legend[WIP] and Polymorphic games still on my plate, I think they'll stay an idea for a little while.
Anyway, I'm still not much good at creating fantasy wardrobes, (or wardrobes in general, come to think of it. T___T). Any suggestions?
