Oh, that's nice! I know that shoulders can be difficult, but isn't omitting the arms entirely kind of ... too much?Niki wrote:Speed-sketch 10 minutes. :9

I didn't intend on drawing the arms hehe >< /lazy But thanks, I'll keep that in mind! x)BCS wrote: Oh, that's nice! I know that shoulders can be difficult, but isn't omitting the arms entirely kind of ... too much?
When I do quick sketches like these I usually just draw from the shoulders up~ I like putting more focus into the expression ><

It's easy to draw faces... bodies are hard. Also, I do like the most fucking random sketches ever. D= This isn't even vaguely related to VN projects, but like fun fanart. My digital paintings and vector work are what I drag out when people wonder why my commissions list is so long and stays long.
I'm not even the same person anymore

So both are done in approximately two hours, and I try to compare how both looks. Yeah they are kinda different somehow but who cares? I'm just doing a slight comparison.
The one in the left, you've seen. The one in the right, made just now. YAAAWN NOW LEMME GET SOME SLEEP D:

Hmm well, there doesn't seem to be good direction in the hair. The shading is random, and the hair shape itself seems to fly here and there.

@Azure- Proportions and shading are a bit better compared to your first pic! I like seeing the improvements.
This is just an opinion though, but I think you should try drawing different styles of eyes. What always bothered me about your art are the eyes-- You usually just draw thin lines instead of making them slightly darker (of course not ever anime/manga style is like this but I think it could improve your works just a bit) The way you draw yours gives the sense that they isn't any indication of eyelids. As a result it the eyes look very flat on the face especially since you didn't shade the eyecolor as much.
Remember, eyes are not flat objects-- they're called eyeballs for a reason, they're spherical! The drawing and shading should reflect a bit of that

I tried the tutorial and this is what I got. It's actually harder than I thought. T_T I really dislike detailing hair shadows...

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
@Azure- Here's a few I found!
- Kikariz's Tutorial- It gives tips on drawing different styles of anime eyes.
- Raykit's Tutorial gives one way for coloring eyes in Photoshop. There's plenty of eye color tutorials though and definitely not one fit way to do it in terms of techniques! So try experimenting with coloring and pick up on what other people do in tutorials
- Max-Factor's Tutorial-- Rather simplistic and unrefined CGing for eyes, but if you're going for simplistic this is okay.
- MoonlitTiger's Tutorial-- Another eye drawing tutorial!
