Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
For the first time in ages, I'm trying to put my big "Human Anatomy for Artists" book to good use and try to redline using muscles and all.
The original drawings belong to my art minion/colleague, who's also kind of my student xD
I still need to practice more with muscles, but I'm glad, because bodies make a lot more sense when you put down muscles instead of winging it, like I usually do ^^;The original drawings belong to my art minion/colleague, who's also kind of my student xD
When drawing something, anything, USE REFERENCES!! Use your Google-fu!
Don't trust your memory, and don't blindly trust what others teach you either.
Research, observation, analysis, experimentation and practice are the key! (:
Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Deji: Looks like a lot of work ..... Well, I don't really know much about muscles, but maybe I'll research it when I have the time.....
Hmmmm.... I tried to sketch a new version of a super-old pic I drew.... What do you think about the perspective?? (the hand was so hard!)
And the Background? I followed the advice I was given and designed all at once....
BTW, does anyone else have problems designing things with your tablet?
I can't seem to be able to do it... But If I just use a simple piece of paper it'a lot easier I guess I don't use my tablet often enough. (and since it's not placed directly in front of my computer, I sometimes have trouble making it look right...)

It is only when you stop looking for nowhere that you find that such a place exists. It hides within a small stitch in time between here and there, a grain of sand trapped within eternity, forever suspended within that moment of existence.

If you have troubles sketching things from scratch with your tablet, do it on paper first, very small! What we call a "thumbnail" A tiny 1" or 2" sketch of what you what your composition to look like (: Then copy that same messy sketch on your computer (or scan it!) and draw on top of it on a new layer ^__^Mangafee wrote: Hmmmm.... Now, for your drawing, I think it lacks on the composition department (and yes, hands are hard >>; )
I think you could make the mermaid bigger and add a bit of (brace yourself) foreshortening to the arm/hand (disclaimer: I stikk suck at foreshortening myself "Orz).
Also making the pearl/orb she's trying to reach out for smaller and closer to her would be better (:
You may want to use the background elements to "frame" your mermaid for a nice composition
Here's my messy and rough take:
The uhm... wiggly shapes are supposed to be coral "Orz And are in the foreground of the picture, as if the "viewer" was looking through an opening or a space between them and saw the mermaid This helps you "frame" and set focus on the important part of the picture, while still being part of the background
Hope it helps! ^^

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
it does, thanks I guess the Orb thingy does look ridiculously huge
I'll try to work on my composition
EDIT:I modified it slightly (Maybe I copied your example a bit too much?
Well, I think it looks better now, thanks I might add something else, but I guess I shohuld stop spamming now

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
My first attempt at cel shading. If any of you have followed my game thus far, you know the rudimentary sprites I've been doing and what they look like. Today, Cosmic Kitty walked me through the cel-shading process more or less, and using Nuxill's work as a guide, I came up with this. Feel free to critique as harshly as you like, I'm trying to improve this as much as possible.
The best reason to get up in the morning is to outdo yourself: to do it better than you've ever done it before. But if you haven't done it better by nightfall... look at your globe and pick a spot: it's always morning somewhere.

A sprite I'm working on for a paid commission (i'm guessing i'm allowed to post it up since there's no secrecy to this). It's not in my usual style but they wanted more of a mainstream haruhi suzumiya-esque look so I complied o 3 o I hate for the life of me cleaning up the flat colors...
Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
The full picture of my avatar. Tried some new color pallet with low saturation (not too colorful) I want to achieve oil-painting look. Still need a bit of work though!

Hi everyone~
It's been months since I've last been here. x3
Sorry for disappearing so many times everyone, even though I haven't created a single thing here. ;w;
Anyway here's something that I drew.
It's a fanart for this Online Game called Sword Girls.

My tablet just broke!!! D8 I wanted to share this when it was done, but now I'll have to wait til my new tablet arrives, so I decided to just share it as it is lol.
I've been practicing drawing boys a lot recently, 'cause i'm not used to drawing them, and I've been thinking of making an otome game some time in the (probably far away) future, so I'm practicing the bishie-look XD
(I know his hairline is kinda wierd, it's one of the things I'm working on ^^'')
