@Tiramango
Loving the color work and personality in the hands :3 can't wait to see more.
@Tag
I know what you mean about not wanting to flat color stuff. I find that phase of drawing extremely tedious as well!
Inking can be fun, though Nice image!
I shall art dumpage as well. I saw Brave recently, and while I didn't think the movie was as good as Pixar's general output, it was by no means bad, and it was quite cute.

@Tag: ahh thank you! Shading noses is pretty much the bane of my existence `m`;. I shall try making it lighter next time~
Awesome ink though! Such a pretty, ruffly dress ;w;. It's kind of funny, I have all the patience to draw mind-numbing, repeating patterns, but when it comes to ruffles, my brain just shuts down /sob.
I totally know what you mean about base colors. It's very inane. Back when I used thick ink lines, it was pretty easy/painless since I just use the magic-wand select tool and increment the selection a couple of pixels, but with thin lines there's... really no shortcut D':. Cue zooming in to 500% with 2px brush haha!
@Geckos: Thank you! ;w;
Ahh, I've been wanting to see Brave - it looks so cute!
Your painting style is really lovely! I've always been a big fan of that lineless sort of style. The hair is especially fantastic!

Lovely Merida, Geckos!
I have the same opinion about Brave as you.
Merida's Father was pure gold, I loved him to pieces <3 Also Scotland <3333 (one of the only foreign countries I've visited, and I've been in love with it since I can remember <3)
And to not break the dumping, here, a WIP:

When drawing something, anything, USE REFERENCES!! Use your Google-fu!
Don't trust your memory, and don't blindly trust what others teach you either.
Research, observation, analysis, experimentation and practice are the key! (:

Welcome !!Tiramango wrote:Hi Lemmasoft forums! Newbie here, hehe. Came across these forums after doing some extensive research about the Ren'py engine, since my friend and I are working on a collaborative VN.
Everyone's work is so great qvq so many diverse styles-- I spent way too long looking through the latest pages.
u m u;; I always feel strange breaking the ice. Our VN going to be a fantasy-style novel with (very light) dating-sim properties ;w;. I will be doing the art and character designs, for the most part!
Here are a couple more concepty sketches! (some are embarrassingly old)
{Player Character} - The main character! Both genders~. A capable prince/princess.
{Felix} - The cheeky thief - a shameless and indiscriminate flirt.
{Character Height Chart} - Hee, the full cast is here. It's very rough, though.
{Felix and Aran} - Felix likes to tease the mage, Aran, because Aran is easily flustered. Really it was just a doodle that I gave a ton of stupid captions because it was too much fun!
If there is any input/suggestions/critique about character designs, colors, my drawing style, etc, I would very much love to hear them ;w; <3
I hope you'll post a lot of your work and opinions of course XD
I really love your colo style, it looks gorgous
I noticed the anatomy in your sketch with the full cast is a bit off though -- the legs are to short for one. I'm still having some issues with anatomy myself so I can't point out a lot, haha
Anyways, lookin forward to your game
It is only when you stop looking for nowhere that you find that such a place exists. It hides within a small stitch in time between here and there, a grain of sand trapped within eternity, forever suspended within that moment of existence.

@Mangafee: Thank you so much! ;w; Anatomy is one of my many weak points, which I must continue to improve!
@Deji: What a classy design~ I love his vest!

Hi there, total newbie passing by XD
I usually draw in sketches... I love doing them for no apparent reason. Also my sketches are extremely messy compared to what other says as sketch....
and here are some sprites that I attempted to make... :'D
derp I cannot do digital coloring
and to you guys, which one of the two is better-colored?

I would say I like the application of shadows in the second picture, but I like the colors of the shading in the first one. Especially the skin tone. The second one looks kind of lifeless while the first one's extra bit of color gives it a warmer feeling.

The purple of the skin in the first picture is almost too much. She looks like she was pummeled recently.mirelle wrote:Which one of the two is better-colored?
I still like it better, however, because of the shading on the hair and clothing. The only other complaint is that the lace on her collar looks a little 2-D.
And your sketch is great. A lot of people's sketches that have character interaction are really flat and not convincing, but you have them down pat.

I have been painting with coffee way too much the past few days, so I decided to see if my watercolor skills aren't falling back to the "I don't know how to do this" sinkhole ouo
Since I've been playing KS the past few days, here's a Hanako decked in flowers and looking pretty =w=

For the sake of officially joining the community I decided to post my most recent sketch (all I can do is sketch at the moment). Here's a picture of Koeyume Kana from my current WiP "Five". Her outfit is something she would never allow herself to be seen in though, too revealing.
