@tiya_nofurita, that's very cool :O
Getting what's in my head onto paper(screen) is so difficult for me. Particularly when I don't know what kind of style I want to do. Here's a WIP of who I wanted to be my MC but she'll probably end up a side character if I use her.

For a project I scrapped- this actually really ticked me off because the sketches always looks really lively and full of energy, but once I make it into lineart that whole spirit is gone-
Anyone else get that? It's happening again in my current project...

I totally have that problem too! The energy that was in the original strokes gets dulled down. Overlaying your original could make it pop again (and erase all the lines you don't want). Your second attempt looks much closer to the original though. Her jumper and hair have a nice volume, but her face feels flat, when I look at your line art, you have a lovely nose line and blush line that have disappeared in the clean up. If her nose line was there it would cast a shadow as well, depending where you want your light source. You've obviously stopped on this though so something to consider with your new work!ffocal wrote:For a project I scrapped- this actually really ticked me off because the sketches always looks really lively and full of energy, but once I make it into lineart that whole spirit is gone-

@ Laluune : Thank you! You have nice style of coloring, it's kinda like semi-painting but the shading is crisp (I personally like the vivid shading than a blurred one). She is too pretty to be just a side char, ehehe
@ ffocal : I totally feel it. Sketches always better than the final lineart. I hate lining yet I depend on it mostly because the only style I'm able is cell shading *sobs*

@sendo: looks nice!

Working on designing my personal website. It's animated, so check it out if you wanna see it in action. None of the links besides the one to my Deviant Art profile work atm because, well, it's a WIP The design doesn't account for different aspect ratios yet either, but it will eventually.

@Razz: Heh, there needs to be a swinging pendulum and a ticking sound effect >:) "You're feeling very sleepy... and want to give me money and apple cider..."
And thanks, I'll have more web stuff to share when both sites are done!

A base look of sort of where I want to head. Now for expressions and personality! I re-did the one from the previous page haha, must stop being so precious >.<

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
I've been trying to develop some interesting materials and post-processing effects using simple 3D geometry as a basis. Except for the primitives base shown in the first image, everything else is procedural—i.e., the effects are generated automatically; there's no textures or manual labour involved (beyond me creating the setup to begin with!)
I'd really like to try making a full BG with one of these styles.

Edit: and here's a short animation with one of the materials I came up with:
