Some stuff I've been working on recently. Trying to get a workflow out that can be used on multiple styles ;_;

@Zylinder, I love these! The color schemes are very good, and I really dig the atmospehre in the first piece.
Here's a commission I finished the other night; I'm not quite satisfied with the contrast, but I do think it was a cute concept!

@Zylinder - I love that colour variation on the buildings in the second one. So lovely.
@SwedishJazz - Very cute. Didn't notice the tree breaking until I looked at the larger size.
I'm still working on backgrounds.
I need to figure out how to paint foliage (I think I might need to use a brush that will give me a lot of dots, rather than the soft round brush I've been using.)
I softened my bridge painting - I felt it was too harsh on the eyes.

Hey guys, can you tell me how good this is?
It's my first time drawing/coloring on a character, since I don't have access to a tablet or a mouse I did this all with my touchpad.
It's not 100% done, but I was feeling kind of disappointed and want some opinions on whether or not I should give up .
I see so much good art so I thought you guys could help! Don't sugarcoat it, just tell me if it's good

For a first attempt, and being done with a touchpad, I think it's very good. But the fact that you aren't happy with it is also a good sign for your potential as an artist. Being able to see flaws in your own work is a prerequisite for improvement. Yes, it sucks to look at your art and see that it's not as good as you want it to be. But that's where everyone who ends up making good art has to start.Assurevi wrote:Hey guys, can you tell me how good this is?

I think the face is very cute and that's the part that is the most finished I expect.Assurevi wrote:Hey guys, can you tell me how good this is?

If you like doing art then don't give up. (I find painting disappointing in the initial stages [looks kinda hideous after the blocking in stage] but then it looks better as the details go in and things get smoothed out)
You could try drawing the body without clothes first - helps with anatomy.

Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Hi guys!
This is my first art dump! Omg. Well this is, I guess my very first successful male that I've ever created. Haha. This was made last March I think, after many practice, I managed to create one that is directly to what I really want to be on the output.
Hope you like it!

@Everyone, thanks alot guys! I've completed the character and could post her if anyone wants!
@Ehluuse, that looks really nice, the colors are cool and fit the character's design in my opinion.

@ Ehluuse: Thanks for dumping, he looks gorgeous! I wholeheartedly admire and salute to people who can paint, you guys are so friggin awesome.
@ Assurevi: Shhhh friend, I know how you feel but never give up, okay? I know that not everyone likes hearing this but practice really is the main key (with attentive observation along the way) and I promise that you'll see improvement, whether big or small depending on how much you're using your time to learn. Some people become pros in 2 years, some take much longer and it is never, by all means, never too late to learn and improve.
This was mine from about 5 years ago:
And this is mine, still in progress (which I really need to finish soon, I'm taking way too long on it gdi):
So don't beat yourself over it, keep posting here and take people's feedback to heart, everyone here gives splendid advice and are sincere in helping just like they were with me, and still do of course. Keep up the good work, friend! :>

Eh, I need to work on the balance of my doodles. On the other hand, chibis are fun to draw. And for the first attempt at drawing guys in over two months, this isn't that bad.
Re: Art Dumpage! Show your art ^^
Been pretty slack lately, no motivation whatsoever >.> I've been drawing cartoony for awhile so I needed to do something different
