Ah... those days... </3

Anyway, now that I've seen this, it has inspired me to spend three frustrating hours on digital art. God, I hate tablets.

It's Link! In the Bunny Hood! :D I like the Bunny Hood. It gives him a nice, Easter-ish sort of look.
Sketched, on-paper version.

EDIT:
OK, so I digitally inked it. And used a new (to me), more advanced coloring method than that of my other works, to make it look slightly more like a VN sprite than an anime character. Also, somebody has a new avatar. :3

@azureXtwilight: Wow that is great much better than my first tablet drawings! (even better than most mine now orz)
Your problem sounds like it is opposite of mine. I usually make my lines too small ><

I can't draw for my life... but I CAN draw Powerpuff type things with vectors, so they're what I use for character art. Different, I know. Don't kill me XD

:O House looks so cute!
I used to watch Powerpuff Girls all the time when I was little, so the style makes me feel nostalgic. :)

Powerpuff girls was such a spiffy show. I loved the Mayor and a lot of the villains (Him and Mojo-jojo were great).
And I also hate tablets >.<; For some reason, drawing a sketch digitally takes at least 3 times as long as a pencil sketch. For lineart (beyond sketches anyway) I stopped trying to do it by hand, and now I just use the curve pen tool in SAI. Saves me time and frustration.

Lately I've set aside backgrounds and started working on character portraits. I'm trying to do that method where all the parts (body, clothes, left/right arms, face) are separate pieces, so I can mix and match parts for a more varied expression set. It's such a pain. But I guess it looks nice in the end.

I haven't finalized the color scheme or design for ponytail girl yet. I dunno if I should keep it as is, change the tie color, or change everything. I kind of like the dark bluish-purple hair though... since her hobbies are traditional folklore and occult-like things, it kind of goes with that image and serves as an alternate to just plain black...

So... Did you use a tablet for that or was it the curve line tool thing? Cause that's amazing. I wish I could do digital art like that.

Thanks very much. I've been putting my all into my current project, since I want enough drawing experience that I could take commissions someday (starving artist here). Though the cast I'm working on is mostly elementary school kids and a couple early-teens so there isn't a lot of variety.

The 3 on the left were done by hand/tablet (since they're sketches basically), and on the right is an example of lineart with the curve line tool. If you look closely you can tell how much of a difference it makes with the neatness of the lines, especially since I draw in series of short strokes.

I'm still really jealous. I wish I could hurry and get better at digital stuff. I so far have stuck mainly to traditional stuff. I'm sorta sad that digital art is practically a whole new skill than traditional stuff.

I used to do mainly traditional stuff too. But don't worry, you'll just get better with digital if you keep going and have patience. I got my tablet around this time of last year and I've gotten pretty far with only about a year of having a tablet. I've gone from this:

Wow, that's a pretty big improvement!
Very impressive ^^

Now, after having lurked here for a long time, I think it's only fair to show you some of my 'art'.
It's a relatively quick sketch and a fist attempt at the whole 'bishounen with a long face'-trick.
I kinda like it, but it's far from perfect.
*continues practicing*

Chansel, I may not draw it well on the comp but I love drawing bishie... A lot of it isn't just the long face, it's a feminine face, give him eyes that come to a tsurime point (if they're half closed or such) and if they're not make them girlier than a normal guy's eyes. You want the chin to be long but to come to a definite point or a very slim curved point, his chin looks a little flat.

His hair is good for a bishie but maybe consider giving it a little less all around volume, it looks a little heavy in the back, if a bishie has hair like that it's usually in a small ponytail or if you don't want to tail it go all the way and give him long flowing locks. But the hair is actually fine and you don't need to change it, these are mainly some tips for hair.

Also I think the chin starts just a wee bit high and could be lowered a bit.

That being said I'm more of a feminine bishie lover than the long chinned so it may be bias speaking.

The pose also says "bishie" but bishies almost never put their entire hands in their pockets but hook their thumbs and let their hand and arm relax.

*Ends strange spur of moment constructive criticism*

I hope you don't take the criticism badly, I know I don't like getting criticised (even for my own good)
