Some of my visual novels are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. They are NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

Just a new version of the picture I uploaded a few days ago. Fixed up the background quite a bit (will add a shoreline but I'm waiting for a bit more writing to be done because I'm not 100% sure what the area looks like) with added texture and a slightly curved horizon. Colored the character and shaded. Trying to be more adventurous with shading...

I'd post this in my own thread, but hey why not here. It's already the 14th in some areas, so here's my annual Valentine's Day picture! I hope everyone has a good one!

railgun I really like your art style for these protags! It reminds me of some Vertigo titles from the 90s. Good stuff!

fleet, one of the best looking 3d sprites I've seen from you so far. The lighting is interesting, the post looks realistic, the hair looks good, the expression looks good. The big question would be how does the rest of the clothing look? All I can currently see is a form fitting bodice...which looks fine. But I find many 3d sprites start suffering in quality with poorly rendered fabric wrinkles. Anyway, good looking sprite!

@trooper6, Thank you! Although, my main inspiration is Hotel Dusk and so, I'm not sure I've heard of them. But if you've got recommendation about some of their titles, I'll gladly take a look ^^

@sorani, I'm excited about P5's release as well!

Railgun, the things I'm thinking about are all comic books. Of the Vertigo titles, Sandman is the most famous:

But something about your art reminds me of the Jaime Hernandez art in Love and Rockets, for example:

That said, since you are inspired by Hotel Dusk, which is itself inspired by film noir. You might want to look at Noir/pulp sources as well.

Some good crime/pulp comics would be, 100 Bullets:

Ms. Tree

or Sanctuary by Ikegami and Fumimura

Of course just watching some classic noir film is good too: Double Indemnity, The Maltese Falcon, Kiss Me Deadly, The Third Man, The Big Sleep, Out of the Past.

Made a quick cheaty logo for a thing :3 This is a good example of why it's nice working with a typeface that has alternative character sets!

Meanwhile in the Death Pledge. The rough concept of the MC!chibi form appears! I took a break from all the full body sketches of MC (can't get it right!) done. This may be the final product (appearance-wise) of our MC in March. NaNo come soon...!

I did a Batman illustration for my best friend's birthday. All of my friends agree it's really amazing, but I think it could be improved. Batman looks too dark for me, his gloves and cowl just look off to me. But other than that, I'm pretty proud of this.
