#1 Post by DragonSilhouette » Sun May 12, 2013 2:27 am

I got a new laptop recently and was wondering if there were programs that have updated to work in windows 8?

First of all, you are posting in the art section so by programs you mean art softwares? Since I'm owning a 7 and doesn't plan on buying 8 as of now, I don't know but if you already own an older program installed in a different computer or laptop, you should contact it instead of buying a new one which base on my experience, causes money a lot.

Yes I do indeed mean art softwares, I used Easy Paint Tool but I plan to just look for alternative till they have an update but for now I'm looking for something simple to muck around on till then, preferably free of course.

As far as I know Paint Tool SAI works just fine on Windows 8.

Since windows aero slows down SAI's brush dynamics few millisec (many people don't notice though, but experienced artists can't bear with it), and MS forced aero in Windows 8, so SAI's developer removed Windows 8 from its support list.
BTW, if you's 7 or vista user, just turn off Aero. It just harms performance of paint tools.

GIMP is free. http://www.gimp.org/
All of my VNs are at http://wolflore.net NOTE: Downloads are now working.
Some are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

Not for me apparently, because it comes up with an error message.

Haha well thanks for the information, I just turn down stability so the brush moves with me in SAI.
