So I draw some basic art. Mainly tattoos and some chibi drawings for people.

Example:

What I am wondering is can I turn these type of drawings into sprites? And I've always wondered how people go about coloring their art.

I think there are a lot of useful and similar threads so all you need to do is searching in the forum.
Check this out http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... =26&t=9518
And a thread that's similar to this that made by Akitsuki http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 46&t=22794
You can search for coloring tutorial on dA, there are plenty of them. But first of all, you need to line first and the pose looks extremely odd in my opinion.

Lol, I don't even understand how they get the transparency around the sprite itself.

Just select the white surrounding your sprite and delete it, then save it into a PNG file and everything works fine ^^
