@kohaku: saw a dalek at first from the thumbnail. ^_^ is it from a story idea?
@railgun: atomic caterpillar??? crazy. :)
@anne: love the pic. seems hopeful, optimistic. looking upwards, holding on to a fallen leaf amidst the darkness and rain.

I'm not a thread regular I will be soon, but can I suggest a new theme for this week? How about Skyscrapers?

the foreground is a horrible mess. my first idea was scraping the sky like paint, but that attempt was an utter disaster. QQ

Sorry not much but I recently just got over some food poisoning and I hope never to get it again, so I figured with the short time I would try and make a skyscraper of my own, rough sketch that i started to turn into a logo or something for no reason at all.

@Anne - Is that a kid trapped in skyscraping cages? Love the textures!

@Kohaku - Look at all those moonrunes I don't understand x'D. Must be nice to reach the top of that.

@unknown5 - Man I like it! I'm reminded of the Conflux towns in Heroes of Might and Magic 3, very magical! Good job ^_^

As for me, I tried my hand at photo bashing. It's so low-res because this is mostly a thumbnail exercise thing I guess. The idea is a magical city in the middle of nowhere guarded by humongous towering golems that keep demons away.

@unknown5: where are the shadows? argh! i forgot! baka. dummy. =P
@Kohaku: love the design of the central tower. asymmetrical, organic feel. carved from living rock.
@Anne: i never studied art, but is that Art Deco inspired? pretty cool sci-fi.
@crestforge: love the colors and imagery. massive shadows bracketing the meandering stream of tiny ant-people rushing to enter before darkness falls upon them. has a wicked egyptian/babylonian vibe, like the colossi of memnon and ishtar gate. definitely tells a story.

Hi,

You are right, we can create good artwork by working with others. Can share ideas, select theme easily and also share experiences with others. Some wonderful and clean pieces of art are here. Thanks for sharing guys.

Do you think it's a good thing to have the themes be that specific? One of the things I liked the most about this was the variety of interpretations (how different people see the same theme in a completely different way and that you can choose for yourself what inspires you the most), I feel that the newly suggested themes don't leave much room for that.

@Anne

Hmm, I think you are right. I was reading one of the website blogs and some people preferred to be given a topic to be specific so that the idea on what to draw comes right to them when they draw. But I think in our case, since we are going to comment/share ideas about the topic, it is better to have topics that are more broad. Let me know if the new topics updated are better. I am open to more suggestions!

I might have picked a terrible first theme T_T
But here's my entry. I was too lazy to make the lines more clean lol.

Blah, I feel like the body proportions are off, but it's not like I ever drew correct body proportions ;_;
Anyways, when I think of Music, I think of OSU! The best game evah! (I am terrible at it)

If you have any questions, comments, concerns about the changes, or anything that you think will help the thread grow more, please don't be afraid to provide advice and suggestions!

I hope I did this correctly. This is for the "Doll" theme.
I haven't drawn in months so my art looks more crappier than usual xD
