Anyone else really excited about a version 2.0 with all those new features? Personally, I'm really excited about the perspective rulers, the increased resolution, and that it will now be compatible with the Tablet PC API, so that it will work natively with my Surface Pro 2.
Things would get even better if, at the Surface event next week, rumors turn out to be right and they're actually releasing a larger Surface Pro.

Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
I'm pretty excited. I tried out the beta and the new stuff is pretty awesome and it still runs pretty quickly. I like the text options and the increased layers. It could be just me, but it seems you can make even smoother lineart than before.

YES! 64bit support and bigger brush, I'm sold.
So I just tried the Beta and the line, sphere and perspective tools are so very awesome. I can't wait for this!

Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
It says on the tumblr post that if you have a SAI 1 license, you can upgrade for free once 2.0 is released. That's probably subject to change though, but don't take my word for it.

It's still in Japanese, right? I wonder if they're going to translate it this time. I heard some changes in version 2 make it hard to make English patch.

Yeah sounds about right. Truth be told though I feel like it isn't that hard to remember what each function is, and the keyboard shortcuts are fairly generic.LVUER wrote:It's still in Japanese, right? Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
I've been playing around a little with the beta, and... I'm pretty much squeeing like a 15 years fangirl. The only weird thing I see is that I have issues trying to stop using the perspective rules, and that I can't change the layers window side. But that may be because I don't know Japanese and I didn't press the correct button, so... well, I love it.

I for one am pretty excited for SAI 2.0, since I've seen first hand what an amazing tool it can be.
How can I purchase a legit version of SAI in English?

I tend to format my computer a *lot*. Does this mean I must spend 5400 yen (how much USD is that???) each time I want to reinstall it?"5400JPY (Include sales tax) per 1 software license."

Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
5400 yen is roughly 53 or 54 USD. What you do is that you keep your license, (save it in your email or back it up in harddrive/flashdrive, or wherever you keep back up files) and if you ever reformat or have a new computer, as long as you have that license you purchased, you can install SAI anywhere as long as it isn't within 30 days of one another (meaning you can't install SAI on multiple computers in one month. You need to wait a month before trying to install it on another one using the same license). Read the directions and you should be fine.Lishy wrote:I for one am pretty excited for SAI 2.0, since I've seen first hand what an amazing tool it can be.

Alright, so as long as I don't use it more than once a month, it should be okay?MaiMai wrote: 5400 yen is roughly 53 or 54 USD. Wow, and for only $54, this seems like such an amazing deal...

Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
Yes. Again, read the directions when you purchase your license and how it should be used. The instructions are very thorough.
SAI has always been around the $50 mark and the fact that you can use your license multiple times if you happen to change computers is why it's such a good deal for beginning artists.

Just in case you didn't notice. This is for SAI version 1, not SAI 2.Lishy wrote:I for one am pretty excited for SAI 2.0, since I've seen first hand what an amazing tool it can be.

Re: Paint Tool Sai 2.0
I've read in the links posted that, if you have a Sai license, you may be able to upgrade to Sai 2 for free. Keep an eye on that.
