Just a random question. If you're an artist here and have Dev would you take points? I just want to know because for I'm able to commission through points

Unless that's the only currency that you're able to commission with, I don't see why they're worth anything, especially for devs considering they're only used for DeviantArt.

There might be a few artists here that would be willing to take points (I think azurextwilight does), but I wouldn't take points.

I personally wouldn't take points.

This is old, but I noticed no one mentioned this:

100 points = 1$ (USD) there's a guide to converting points to Paypal out there, I can't find the one I used to have bookmarked (system wipes + not backing up = me crying) but you can do a quick Google search, and you'll find a lot of them. This means the people who can only use DA points (parents only allow DA points/donated points) can commission you, and you can get money for it!

The only reason you should take points is for the buyers who don't have/can't use Paypal, (or you can't use Paypal etc) otherwise it's a lot of hoops to jump through in my opinion. The 20% commission that DA takes when you use the commission widget thing is also pretty killer, to avoid that I would suggest setting your prices with the 20% DA takes in the price so you aren't losing out!

So really, I would take points because it can open you up to more commissioners who can't use Paypal for whatever reason since you can still get money, but it's important to weigh in the commission DA takes, and the inconvenience!
