How You Choose Which Relationship To Write First
So...you've got your stories for the multiple love interests in your game. I'd love to hear your thoughts on who you decide to write first.
I'm pretty much back on the writing train. I don't know if I should do the most complex one first, the one that needs the most research/least research, etc. How do you determine who to pick and why? Please enlighten me before I throw myself back into it.
Thanks!

Re: How You Choose Which Relationship To Write First
I usually write them in the order that I would walk through the game. For example, when writing Adrift, I started out with Hinami's path, because I usually go for the bubbly, cute girl in games first, so she was the logical choice to start off with. (Also, having her light-hearted part done first, I could focus on the more somber stories of the others.)
Of course, this only applies to relationship stories. With a different focus in storytelling, I often write out characters in the order they appear in the plot.

Re: How You Choose Which Relationship To Write First
For me... I write in the order from easiest to hardest. Basically the character whose route/personality/traits etc have already been completed in my mind or on the storyboard first. That way the writing comes easiest to me for these characters, and while I write them I can still get ideas for the harder/complex routes/characters.
I start with what I'm most comfortable with writing - whether it's personality, or themes/chardev I like exploring. So they're done and over with before I start tackling research and outlining the trickier ones.

Re: How You Choose Which Relationship To Write First
I write the path for the girl/guy I myself would pursue - aka the one I feel most strongly about. I guess this is what I, as the author, would think of as the "true" path in the game. In other words, if I were going to write a sequel, what would be the actual canon storyline of the first game. This means I am writing the most "important" story arc first, and it will be the highest quality because of my passion for it. Then I can write the other storylines and arcs and have a measuring stick for the quality and excitement they have to contain. By starting with the best, I can make sure any arcs written afterward are good in comparison.
Of course, I'd never TELL anyone which arc I consider canon.... and hopefully no one would be able to tell, either.
