Has anybody done a very short story on working life b4?

#1 Post by d3stiny »

Has anybody done before a short visual novel on working life (dilbert version)? Well it may not be on working life. It can be working in a group project at school and the issues with it. Or basically working with strange people......

any ideas?

It's probably been done but not sure if it has been done as a single story. I say go for it.

Well, a VN about working life has been done before. One notable example is Actual Sunlight, which I haven't actually played for myself. I've heard quite a bit about it though.

It doesn't really matter if the idea's been done before, though. Lots of ideas have been done before(get transported to a fantasy world and have to find your way home, go to a new school and try to claw your way up to the top, etc.), but if this is the story you want to do, then go for it. :D
My first completed visual novel, which is at 1.3, it's final version(woo hoo!): Monster Uses CPU 2
Finally at version 1.0: White Fog

You might ask yourself: If I could only save one paragraph of the work I'm writing, which one would I save?
Which one would I let go first?

Is it important whether it's been done before?
Honestly, I'd read virtually anything as long as I felt it had actual heart and thought put into it.

Ah it is because I am not too sure how to go about doing it hence i am looking for ideas based on what had been done before.
satirical office humor is hard to pull off. If anybody know of a good book or sometime i can reference/learn on, please let me know.

Will check out actual sunlight!

Watch a lot of TV shows based around the idea.
Parks and Recreations, The IT crowd, The Office (British version!), ... that sort of thing.
Inspiration come from lots of sources, not just the medium you're targeting.
Always has.
Always will be.

PS: What gave you the desire to tell that kind of story?

but i will still try to check out those shows.....
