VNs without dialogue

#1 Post by Horma »

A VN without dialogue may sound like an oxymoron, but are there any? I would love to try some out.

My new idea is to write out the humoristic inner monologue of a person who believes that humans would be happier if modern society was destroyed and the prehistoric era would start again. This person also admires animals and keeps referencing their pet frogs. The person's age and gender would remain undefined.

@madmarcel is currently developing a wordless visual novel. It's not released yet, but you may want to check out madmarcel's work-in-progress screenshots.

I don't see why not. People used to watch "silent films"
These had little to no words and conveyed the story just fine.
Many loony tunes cartoons have nothing but music to accentuate the punchlines (Wile E Coyote anyone?)
Warning: May contain trace amounts of gratuitous plot.
pro·gram·mer (noun) An organism capable of converting caffeine into code.

Wow, that looks so cool. I had a similar game idea visually years ago but never could create anything of substance to it. Excited to see if those bubbles will be used in creative ways.

Another vague idea (someone please steal it): A Charlie Chaplin silent film style VN comedy. If that exists, my faith in humanity is somewhat improved.
