Where do you get your bg music?

#1 Post by BakaRingo » Tue May 14, 2013 9:02 pm

Hey guys!
So me and a friend are currently in the process of making an otome game, and I was wondering how do you get your music? Do you make it yourself or do you find it on a website and download it? And tips whatsoever would be EXTREMELY helpful.
Thanks!!

Jamendo
Is a great place for any sort of free music you wish to use. But you have to pay the creator if you're making a license game.

I think they're a few topics that have a list of free downloadable music as well in this section.
You can also try the Creative Commons
Much Appreciated for those who took the Survey!

You can try FreePlay Music, though it's not really designed for looping most of the time. There's also a few Japanese sites around that host music, but you'd have to ask someone else for some URLs.

I write my own music, so I can't make any solid suggestions, FreePlay Music is just one I've heard of before, but I don't know how licensing works or anything there.

You can download royalty free music from http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/

You don't have to pay unless you are going to sell your game. You MUST give credit to Kevin MacLeod

Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

and really, that's cool He deserves credit. I use Freeplay music, Furaffinity, A Guy I know and a few others. You want to look up "Royalty free" music.

You can also talk to the CC groups depending on who you talk to you can get free or somewhat free Custom music. It's kind of cool.
