I've been looking for free sources of in-game music. I stumbled upon Freeplaymusic.com and I think their contents are good. But somehow the terms of use are beyond my understanding. Could someone kindly explain their terms of use to me in a much simplier way? Is their music available for free usage on non-commercial games (with credit of course)? Or is it only free for personal (unpublished) work?
Also, how about Jewelbeat.com? Thank you for your help.

You can use incompetech's music in commercial games too. He only ask that you credit him.
There is also
http://freepd.com/ which is run by the same guy. Those are all in the public domain, so you don't have to credit the author if you use any of them. You're also free to use them in commercial and non-commercial games as you please.

Thank you for your suggestions

I was already aware of Incompetech, and it really has good music.
I'll check freepd.com now

Last time I checked, you had to pay for a license to use Freeplaymusic's songs.

Cripes, that sucks.
I really like their products though. Why must the world be cruel and stingy?

Ah well, it's not a huge loss. Jamendo has a lot of good CC songs.

I agree. If only my android tablet could properly access the website. My poor laptop's at the repair shop, baby brother pushed off my bed. I'm just collecting songs for now for my game 'till I get it back. *sigh*

I can confirm Freeplaymusic, you need a license under this:
(iii) Gaming / Shareware / Freeware
I assume that VNs fit under that category. Oh well.
For jewelbeat.com:
Paying option gets you both commercial and noncommercial use
You want extended license to cover international
The term is 99 years
You can use this on a VN
You must have post "Music by JewelBeat.com" for that music.
Individual tracks are 99c BUT
You scroll down there are free music and sound tracks
OK for commercial / non commercial use in a VN
Provide a link stating "Music by JewelBeat.com". For the music it must be defined as inside the link:
http://www.jewelbeat.com/free/free-background-music.htm

Very late reply. But thank you dorne for these info! And the jewelbeat link. Definitely helpful

Jewelbeat seems like a good deal if I decide to spend. But wow, really? 99 years.
