Violin Music?

So, I have a bit of a problem.

I'm creating a VN with the characters from my webcomic. One of these characters is a violinist.

I am completely non-musical. I'm utterly hopeless with an instrument.

I'm at a loss. I haven't found any CC violin music, and don't know if I can somehow generate something similar enough sounding synthetically. My best guess is no.

Any advice/resources?

You could try finding some youtube videos of violinists who have some good quality audio and ask the uploader if you could use their music? Obviously you would want to try and ask the ones that seem to be recording from their home/bedroom rather than an actual signed artist.

Some keyboards have various sounds including violins, so if you can play mild piano/keyboard and have one, you might be able to use that as a go-around. But you can always go to the recruitment forum and see if you can find a violinist willing to help...or, if you have friends who play violin, they might be able to help you too!

alternatively, you can download the free DAW, LMMS, and find a soundfont called aaviolin.sf2, which is what I use. it's absolutely wonderful and very realistic, at least to me. have fun!

Alternatively the Sonatina Symphonic orchestra includes a fairly good violin soundfont.

A Jamendo search for "violin" turns up tons of violin music. Nothing in there that fits your style?
