After Effects Movies settings for renpy
For those who use After Effects to work with video do you have specific settings that you render your videos? QuickTime seems to be the only format I can get to work with a mask, but other then that there's a lot to choose form and little guidance. Any suggestions for it?

Re: After Effects Movies settings for renpy
This is a great question and one we struggled with before figuring out a solution for our last two games!
The way I do it is:
> Export from AfterEffects as a .mov (no extra fiddling really needed)
> Use HandBrake to import your .mov and encode as MKV; set 720/1080p or whatever your res is
> Set video codec as VP9
> Set audio codec as... Vorbis? MP3? Can experiment some here, can't remember which worked best
It gives you really decent quality and small file sizes for your OP/ED/whatever videos. Adobe Media Encoder works too, but if you don't have it, HandBrake is also fantastic.
Hopefully this helps some and you can play around with settings to find what works best!

Re: After Effects Movies settings for renpy
Thanks so much Dovakitteh. It's actually the most input I've gotten on it whenever I've asked. I've been trying to learn more about using video editing, but specific for renpy seem a little harder to research.
