Hmm, if he's around 30 or 40 then he doesn't look that much outside his age, and you did mention that he seems to be supposed to appear younger. By the way, you guys were probably going for this, but now that i think about it, the husband kind of gives me chills

And yeah, i was going to say that the GUI you showed us seemed more proper for an horror game than a drama story. Maybe you could use it for your next project! I can see why you wanted to digress from the plain square usual, but i admit i'm not very sure of how you could vary it... Maybe a sharp paper with one or two cuts on it?

The vertical box idea seems rather fresh/new, so i find it attractive on reason of that. Whether it is appropiate for a 2nd person narration, i don't know but i think it could work. Maybe you can "test" it, so to say, trying out a scene from the work and see how it feels.

Anyway, yeah I'll probably keep the one I made and use it for another project or just give it to lemmasoft for free-use.

I went ahead and redid another textbox, this time I went with the vertical half-textbox that i showed an example of in my last post. I think it is different and interesting.

So let me know what you think of this one. (The bottom buttons' color needs to be changed, and not sure if we'll go with that BG. Its just something i got for Okami from the creative commons folder. I wanted to test it out with a BG)

If you're asking about the text ox I don't really like that format mostly because it takes up a big chunk of the screen, not letting people enjoy the background or any character sprites on screen. I like the style of it but if it were a horizontal box it would look better in my opinion.

Hmm.... you do have a point, but there wont be many sprites on screen like only one, so you'd still be able to see them. but the BG would be covered a lot.

Still, I want to do something different.

Alright, I'm the writer, and I'm almost done with the script. I kinda went a little overboard at times, but you'll be able to tell that I had fun writing this when you guys read it!

Then again, whether or not i had too much fun is up to interpretation. :p

If we keep this pace up we might even finish early!
I'm hoping it'll take me a week tops to code this game...

The sprites are pretty much done!
All that's left now is for me to code this.
I'm hoping I can get it done in a week, that way we have time to go over it and test it out, do a few changes, etc...

I must say I'm pretty interested in the story. I feel that this will be a very bwhahahaha story, for lack of a better description.

For the GUI, have you thought about doing a Newspaper style? Like a paper texture and some news paper like fonts? I think that would suit well.

Oh yeah, I changed the size of the textbox. It's smaller but still kind of different. I'll see how it works out.

@ auro-cyanide - oh thats a pretty cool idea! I might give it a try. I want to try and finish this early so we have an extra week to do extra things and polish it up.

I started working on it today, it was kind of slow because I forgot how to do most everything, so I had to look it up. I think now it wont take as long.

Well, for the most part. I stilll need to add in the sound effects and music. I'll probably change the textbox as well.
But other then that, I got the game coded yay me!

Over this weekend I'll do the finishing touches and send it over to roundmetal and Jubbz to test it out.

Wow that's great! For the amount that you've finished you've completed this project very quickly which I think is great because you don't worry about it so much after most of it's done. I'm excited for the release

Yeah we're doing pretty good! I pretty much put in all the SFX just need to find a few more that i forgot to grab >_<
Then music, not really sure what type of music or even where to place it. Anyone have any advice?

Hmm for me I can see it having a sort of peaceful sort of music. Maybe like a piano. If there were like sad moments you ould have piano music with a sad vibe and that sort of thing.
