@vivid, Thank you ^_^ I'm pretty obsessed with soft yellow sunlight. I studied some photos and I was trying to get a similar effect.

Finished prepping and the sprites and I am uploading them as we speak so Mink will finally be able to use them as sprites.

Now I'm totally focused on doing the rest of the backgrounds, the CGs and a couple extra bits and pieces.

The game contains 1,596 dialogue blocks, containing 10,679 words and 55,462
characters, for an average of 6.7 words and 35 characters per block.

The game contains 22 menus, 2 images, and 13 screens.
NOW I'm at least over halfway done. 4/6 "game" parts down, two left, discounting what goes on in-between those parts.

Also, I hope no one's squeamish, because there's a...bloody part. It's also my favorite. <3

Done another background. As expected it didn't turn out as nice as the nature ones, but I'm still kind of 'Holy shit, since when can I speed paint and why didn't anyone tell me about it!?' Seriously, I'm more than a little surprised o.o

I don't think the backgrounds are going to be terribly consistent because I've been trying out a truck load of different brushes (I think I found a favourite <3) but I tend to treat Nanoreno as a time to experiment on short things more than anything else, so I'm okay with that. Still running out of time though, I'm going to have a busy weekend and I don't want to be leaving everything to the long weekend D:

This one is meant to be a little mix of east and west so I based it on the streets of Penang in Malaysia.

@Auro: these backgrounds are very nice, I like their warmth and use of colour. You've got a bit of a tendency to botch perspective on small things at times, however, like the top of the red door post in this last background. But what I've noticed is that you're very inconsistent with the height of the horizon. I know that most VNs don't obey the rule that the horizon is at eye level for compositional reasons, but I think it's a bit odd when it keeps shifting between scenes.

In the center, especially if you make it bigger, the name hides a lot of the central sprite. If the VN often has one sprite shown then I would consider moving the name to the left. Otherwise the size is fine.

I had the last two nights off because my mood has been sucky from work and that's definitely one of the things that turns me off wanting to draw.

But back to it today! Another speed painting, I think this one took me less than 2 hours. I... was having fun messing with things, so I can't guarantee that this is what the final would look like. Seriously, so many fun things to play with :Q
