A retelling of the Norwegian fairy tale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon."
Ultimately I'd like to do this as a virtual pop-up book in Unity, and I'm torn between doing a nice vertical slice in that style, or roughing in the whole game with lots of sketches linked together with Twine. Either way, it should be a fun month! ^_^

Ooo I really like retellings of fairy tales :3. And a book style presentation sounds very fitting. Good luck to you ^^.

Hmmm... The Golden Compass?
I also remember a film I watched decades ago, where at night the polar bear turned into a human prince who then made love with the girl.
By any chance are these related?

I can't speak for Morgan, of course, but I doubt it. If there's any "connection" at all it'll be because the works you cite were also influenced by Norwegian folklore. Harmless.

The Golden Compass would be very loosely influenced, if at all, but the film you remember is likely an adaptation of the same story, or a closely related one. East of the Sun, West of the Moon is one of the 'animal bridegroom' class of tales, like the better-known Beauty and the Beast.

Dang all the popup stuff sounds pretty difficult, but I'm excited to see where you go with it!
Also East of the Sun West of the Moon is an old favourite fairytale of mine so I'm always excited to see an adaption!!

East of the Sun and West of the Moon was always one of my favourite fairytales. The ideas you have for visual presentation sound really interesting too! I'll be watching this one.
