The story follows Cyrus as he joins the famed Orion Tournament - a prestigious gladiator tournament where glory and fame awaits the champion. Along the way, Cyrus will meet a bunch of characters who will help him win or try to kill him.

This will be my first NaNoReNo project and my first real attempt at making a game with Ren'Py. I'm working on this alone just to see where I can take it on my own, a self-imposed challenge if you will . I haven't made a lot of progress yet, but here are some sketches of the characters. More info will be added later.

3-11: Small update to show I'm still plugging away with this... ha ha. Nothing much to show yet, but here's the semi final designs and color for the girls(though all I've managed is their faces ha ha). Aghh so much to do, I hope I can make it in time ^^; I'll be updating again by the end of the week, hopefully I can flesh out the plot more so that I can write a better summary.

Sooo still working on this but I hit a huge wall that is writing. See, this project was originally made as an excuse to make a simple!RPG. But I'm trying to come up with a decent (read: epic ^^;;;) plot just so I don't present a mindless game and I've been writing for the past week but it's just not getting anywhere. It ate a lot of time and now I'm kinda burned out on it ^^;

Needless to say, I won't be able to finish this with the time left. But I will definitely polish this up so that I don't abandon YET another game ._. Anyways, here's a screenshot of the main menu (complete with Gratuitous Japanese) and an early scene.

The screenshot looks great! The talk sprite kind of reminds me of 'Tales Of' skit sprites for some reason (in a good way)

Oh wow it really does look like and rpg game with those sprites. Do you actually get to battle? Lol at Cyrus's face sprite expression.

@Duskylli yes, I've been coding a pretty simple battle system. You'll be battling various monsters and some humanoid enemies too, like the bandit

Been a while, here's another update about the battle engine I'm working on. The battle system originally was a front view one but then I realized that I really don't have any deadline because I crashed and burned with NaNo, so I kinda took my time developing this sideview battle system.

And since there's no NaNo deadline looming around the corner, I decided to explore the plot a bit more to see other interesting paths the story could take. And I've yet to make a final decision. But meh, I will at least plug away at the gameplay part while I mull over the story.

You can actually try the (very very basic) engine yourself. I'm planning on improving it and maybe make it more modular so I can use it on more projects. Here's the DL link if you're interested
